Disregard last 2 posts from me they are incomplete. My 2019 895 with single 300 doesn’t have any engine limit switches other than the standard full up and full down. There is nothing that limits the engine position relative to the seat position. Would be nice if there was for a safety to keep from hitting the seat with the engine if one forgot to slide the seat forward.

I changed the connectors so it tilts all the way, like the factory delivers. In my mind the lack of system to protect the cowlings and seat is a major design issue. I have the dealer contacting jeaneau about a fix and if they cannot come up with one, I will.

For those of you that have the 895 Offshore, did your user's manual specify offshore? Ours just has a manual for the 895. Our boat just arrived to the shop for commissioning. I hope it really is an Offshore.

Canusa, I had the same question. I believe they are only building the offshore in Michigan. However there is a placard under the helm I believe and it says offshore.

I’ve been told all hulls coming out of Cadillac are offshore. Ours has a placard at the helm and in the cockpit that says NC 895 Offshore. Ours has the large fuel tanks which is part of the offshore build. It’s great having this fuel capacity even with the f300. I don’t recall anything in the manual mentioning Offshore but perhaps it’s there somewhere. I have noticed that the manual is not up to date. For instance, the fuel inlets have been moved from the stern to the walkways by the wheel house which is great but this is not reflected in the manual. I have requested an updated manual.

I just bought a 2019 NC 895. So far, we love it. One thing that does disappoint me, however is that there is only a single 115V socket -- it is on the wall above the stove/sink.
I am thinking about having an electrician look at it and see if I can install at least one more socket. I wonder if anyone has done similarly?

What did you name your boat? We have a 2017 NC 895 and have been pleased to date. Likewise, we felt the boat was lacking in 115V sockets. During the fitting of the boat when new at the dealer’s shop (Blaine, WA), we had them install two additional outlets. One outlet below the cabin table with the other outlet in the forward berth, next to the closet. These two additional locations seemed to be adequate. We do not have a genset. Both of these new outlets are powered only when hooked up to shore power. I sometimes wish I also had an outlet in the cockpit hold/locker. Dogbreath

Same here on my 795, during the initial setup we had two additional outlets installed. I also had a 2000w inverter installed so I can use them while not on shore power. It works pretty good and I run things like electric heaters, fans, toaster, USB chargers, except my Keurig which drawls too much wattage on the boiler 😟.

I have the Xantrex Freedom HF 1800 T inverter/ charger, and the specs indicate it will handle surge up to 3600w, but my Keurig still won’t work. I also have 4 house batteries to run off the inverter so I don’t worry too much about draining them, although I don’t run much at night of the inverter. If I had the stowage space I probably would have opted for a larger inverter.

Wondering what others are thinking about the issue of the missing panel cover in the aft birth. this is the cover over the electrical panel. the 895 we saw at the boat show had a solid cover similar to the other one on the side where the water system is. We were told that the thickness of the wood was increased at that location which is why there is no cover. Now we all know that if and when little kids find themselves in the aft birth we know where their little fingers will be!

Urbanerosion, You asked if the flat area in the bottom of thehull was for a transducer. I wondered about that too. I had a Raymarineexpert look at it. He was concerned that water flowing over the shape of this might interfere with transducer readings. In the case of my Raymarine system the transducers were longer than the flat so it was a moot point for me. The Sundance guys installed my set of twin transducers through the hull in the area of the cockpit storage locker. One is on the port and one on the starboard side. Apparently this is a standard installation for these twin transducers. They work great.
Ramon, I also thought there should be a door over the 120v electrical panel in the 2nd berth. I guess if the water heater stops working I'll look to see if someone was playing with switches :') And my windshield washer reserve is also under the floor panelat the bottom of the steps.
All, There was discussion here and there about cooktops. We chose the Kenyon electric cooktop. Reasons were for safety, light weight, and to have additional counter space on the cooktop surface when the cooktop was not in use. We love it. Works great. Of course you need 120v. For occasions we might be without power I carry a small single burner gas camp stove. I previously used it on my 695. Its smalland light weight so easy to stow. It uses small gas cans. Each can is fairly small so I don't consider them a significant safety risk (I stow them in the outside storage space where the propane gas cylinder would be if we had that).

Hello all,
Happy almost thanksgiving. We took delivery in Portland two weeks ago of our 895. It's awesome, even in the break in period, the economy cruise at 4k on each side we're getting 22-23 Knots and 1.6 Mpg. Our numbers so far our numbers are lining up with what was reported for performance in Boating Magazine April 2, 2018. I have two questions for the group. First, has anyone crafted a way to keep the bench lockers in the cockpit dry? I love the extra storage, but on the Columbia, I think this will be a mold farm soon. My other challenge is the cover to the galley. We had a dealer installed propane cook top. First off the hinges aren't great. I'm having trouble keeping the forward corner from hitting the counter while closing. The cook top is mounted such that the hinges are largely inaccessible. This also results in a very close proximity between the burners and the lid. They installed some great polished stainless shielding, but it does not come all the way to the bottom of the lid, leaving 2 inches of exposed wood only 3 inches from the flames. This will be even closer once a large pan is on the heat deflecting more flame and heat closer to the exposed wood. Any advice and funny stories greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on your NC 895. We purchased our NC 895 in early 2017 and keep her in a covered slip at the Port of Everett, Washington. Thus, the boat is not as exposed to the weather when in the slip. However, even with bow in and the stern under cover the back-bench storage is still only for items that can get wet (dang horizontal rain). I keep the cleaning supplies, brushes, a spare fender, bottle water, and extra line in this area. I have also purchased a series of plastic baskets to store these items in which seems to help keep them drier. Not sure of how the newer models are, but for ours, avoid using the bench seat when in the forward position. In the forward position there are only two floor latches to secure the seat. Both of these latches are on the starboard side. When you use the seat in this position it puts too much stress on these two latches, which are only secured to the bench by screws. I have since replaced these screws with bolts. In the back position, there are these same two latches plus another latch on the port side. We have enjoyed our boat so far. There are pluses and minus, with required compromises, but overall is a good fit for us and for our intended uses in Puget Sound/PNW. Welcome to the forum. What did you end up call your boat? We love all of the storage on the back of the boat, but the accessibility is limiting, plus dry vs. wet.
Change of subject, anyone tow one of these things (or weigh one)?

I am having trouble with my generator. The marina tells me it is air getting into the line and because I keep the boat on a lift, the water drains and each time I put in water, there is air bubbles that are causing it to shut down after 15 min. The only way is to correct is to every time I put in water is to "burb" the water line. Does this make sense?

I had the same issue with another boat which had a Kohler gas gen and yes I kept it on a lift. The technician said I needed to close the sea cock before I take it out of the water and obviously open it when it's in the water again. No issues after that!
