Have any NC 895 owners found a location for name and hailing port on the 895 they are happy with? The transom does not leave much room for these and I'm not very creative I'm afraid. Photos are appreciated.

M Cap,
There is one blue hull I found a picture of the name in place of the NC and the swoosh (not Nike, but the thing under the NC) where removed. It looks good, but I don't know about pulling the NC off...kinda like it. Just do a google image search for "NC 895" and scroll down. The boat was for sale and I think the name is "Once Around" of note, the hailing port isn't visible on the side at all.

Mcaptain,
In my case I'm leaning on putting her name (LolaClaire) on the transom. Specifically, on the aft side of the sliding seat in front of the engine. In our case, its the single F300. Even thought its a bigger engine it is only one engine and there seems to be more room to see it than there would be with the smaller but twin 200's. Once the weather improves a bit I'll make a dummy name and tape it up to see how it looks.

I went to the boat today to set up for a birthday party, and when I stepped onboard the bilge pump burped out a significant stream of water. Later inside I noticed water dripping from the forward cabin ceiling in the forward starboard edge of the ceiling panel close to where the strip lights end. We also had some water dripping from the ceiling in the aft guest cabin from the strip lights dead a mid ship almost right over the electrical panel.
We've had a few drips here and there from condensation, but the ceiling in the forward cabin has leaked before. We thought it might be tied to the pressure washing during the delivery, but I think this is rain water, it's too much to be condensation, and the bilge water level is higher than when i last checked it.
Has anyone else had a problem with rain getting in? If so where, and what did you do to resolve it.
Thanks,
West

West,
The LolaClaire is leaking in rain water. In our case from what I can tell so far it all seems to be coming in the aft area of the boat in the cockpit area. We do not have any moisture from the ceilings. The water that I can see is coming in the fittings that are mounted in the antiskid floor areas. Most of those fittings did not have sealant applied when installed. The water wicks in between the fiitting and the spaces in the rough anti-skid surface. Alex from Seahawk Yacht services has already sealed the two cockpit door (the big one in the floor) latches and they are no longer leaking. But I am still getting water. I managed to be able to get my head in far Enough to see the underside of the large access panel in the surface just fwd and above the electric connection. I was surprised how much water was dripping in around the access door frame. And I can’t see any sealant there either. Also can’t see any sealant at a bunch of other fittings like the ones that the sliding seat pins into. Although I can’t see the underside of these to check. But next time here I’ll have Alex remove and seal and reinstall all those fittings and access panel that are in the anti skid surfaces. Fortunately I can see sealant was used in the fuel and other fittings installed in the walkways. Like the fuel fittings. In your case you may not be able to see where the water is coming in like in my situation as I can get under the cockpit floor and look at the underside of some of the fittings. I’d look at everyone installed and look for signs of sealant or seals between the installed component (like the light) and the roof. If you can’t see anything then it’s likely that they skipped applying a seal or sealant. Let us know what you find. It’s possible I could also have water coming in one of these other areas that isn’t seen until it ends up in the bilge at the aft end of the boat

I haven't really looked closely at the cockpit area, but we just moved to a covered slip, so I don't think we'll be able to track down leaks as easily. I may (in the spring when the water is back on) hit her with a hose to see what I can make leak. My first guess is the mountings for the railings for the forward leak. I'll take a closer look at the cockpit storage to see if there's anything leaking there.
Thanks,
West

I forgot to mention one additional thing on water leaks. I discovered that there’s a 1/4” to 3/8” gap between the lower surface of the large cockpit floor door and the upper surface of the structure beneath it. During rain or gentle rinsiing of the cockpit area the channels around the underside of the door do a good job capturing water and directing it out the back of the boat. But if you hit the deck area around the door with a lot of hose water pressure you can force water over the channels and into the hull below the door. Alex from Seahawk Yacht services placed a rubber seal on the bottom of the door surface around the perimeter. This seal contacts the raised area around the channel Under the door to prevent this type of “flooding”

Naming. We put the hailing port on the sides of the boarding platforms and the name up forward above the Master Stateroom portlites.
Leaks. I had one of the rubrail end caps come loose and when I examined it , there was no sign of sealant. Pulled out one of the rubrail screws up forward, no sealant there either. I also have a leak up forward , port side of master stateroom. I would suspect there will be more from the rubrail. I will be insisting the dealer pull all the screws and seal them properly

Good day NC895, 2018-2019 owners. Can you please share, how much did you pay for offshore version, Generator excluded-Air conditioning included?. Suddenly, my dealer have adjusted the final price I have to pay and I have a dilemma, commit or cancel.. I have to pay around 15,000 more or cancel my contract. I think, after the few trade shows in try state aria, dealers have got many new clients, even for already contracted units... I was expecting my boat to be delivered in the middle of February. Your prompt replies is greatly appreciated.

Gia, Even excluding the generator, there are so many options available on the 895 that can move the price range easily $25k. That said if you just want a rough idea, there’s a new 895 offshore legend (blue hull) with a few options (but not a lot) listed at the Seattle boat show for a boat special price (without tax added) of $190k.
With respect to delivery delays, I ordered mine in August will take delivery first week in February. So despite the fact that they’ve gotten better they’re still running a month or two behind.
Hope that helps.

Hi fellow Marry Fisher owners! I apologize if this is not the right forum for this question, and I'll be glad to post it on a different thread if suggested.
I have 2015 Merry Fisher 855 with twin Yamaha 200 engines, here in Seattle. I need to do annual service on these engines and looking for a good Yamaha mechanic in this area. There are few dealerships that are quite expensive and have mixed reviews. I would really appreciate some advice from Seattle owners, where to take them for service.
Thanks a lot in advance!

This is a fine forum to ask that question. I have a 2017 NC 895 offshore, also with the twin Yamaha 200s. The boat is located in Everett. I have been taking my boat to Bayside Marine, 1111 Craftsman Way Everett, WA 98201 Main (425) 252-3088 (http://www.baysidemarine.com/). I have asked around the docks, and it seems that they generally get good reviews, especially among some of the "old salts." They have a dock located in the Port of Everett. They will lift the boat out of the water, perform required service and wash the bottom. As far as price, it is a boat so nothing is cheap, but for me they do a good job. My only complaint is do not expect a quick turnaround, especially in the spring/summer. So plan ahead and pick an off season time period. Dogbreath

Thanks for the info Dogbreath! I'm hoping to find a mechanic a bit closer to Seattle :-(
I called Jacobsen's Marina in Edmonds and they gave me an estimate of around $1200 for both engines. Is that in the ball park? Anyone on the forum has any experience with them?

What is everyone doing for a boat dehumidifier? Any good recommendations, anyone just skipping it altogether and not running into moisture problems? I was looking at one of these: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07B8SCPZ4/ref=cm_cr_srp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8- operates at a lower temperature than the refrigerant types - drain hose allows me to drain to the shower or sink and not monitor it daily.

I bought Davis Instruments Air-Dryr 1000 Dryer - currently at Amazon for $50.72. I have two running - one in the cabin and the other at the bottom of the stairs to the berths. It is not really a heater, although you can feel it is a littler warmer inside. If the cockpit hold had an outlet, I would consider adding or relocating one there too. I have not had any moisture issues to date. Dogbreath

Hello, everybody. Any NC895-1095-795 owners in North and central New Jersey? Which marinas do you use for slip rental? I have a dilemma to choose one....any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yes I do have the twin 200's, and I do have AC and generator. I had the port trim tab down when we were slow cruising, but put it back up to get on plane, figuring that they would just increase drag. But you know, maybe I'm wrong about that. I've only used them a few times when more weight (people) tend to be sitting in the booth. Also I did see today, that theres more fuel in the tanks than I thought, about 7/8's full.
And yes, I will post what the dealer found out with the electrical problem. I don't know what they can check that I haven't already done, but maybe I'm wrong about that too! (actually hoping I am)

Hi thanks for all your input to the forum i have been reading it on and off for several months its interesting to read how you do things in the USA you seems to be do things a little differently than what we do in the UK. I am presently in i 755 and have an 895 off shore on order, one thing that is the same over here is getting info on delivery. I ordered it in September 2017 and am hoping to take delivery in May but still no confirmed date. I am trying at present to contact Nauset Marine to try and get the switch guard that dogbreath had made for his boat. Dogbreath if you see this could you let me have some more details. at present they are replying saying ive been miss informed or any one else who could help

Dogbreath if you see this could you let me have some more details. at present they are replying saying ive been miss informed or any one else who could help Hi Chris. I worked directly with David Deschamps (david@nausetmarine.com). As I understand it, Nauset Marine has several locations. The custom guards were completed on August 31, 2017. He included a template for each guard that fits around the panel for drilling the holes. I searched, I do not have these templated at the house, but I will look around the boat. He also was not sure about how thick the dash is so he made the studs 1 1/2", which worked fine. The guards solved my problem, which was my knee tripping the switches. Not the best location for the switches. Dogbreath

Welcome. I too could not find any switchguards for my 895. But them I discovered that oversize drawer pulls work and look great. I installed one the other day. When I have a few extra minutes I’ll upload pics and more info.

Chris,
Here are some pictures of the switch guard I installed. This particular row of switches is the one where everyone hits them with their knees. Its about 8.5 inches in width. This guard is 9" long center to center and just fits across the switches. I installed it centered in the vertical direction and its very easy to flip the switches on and off while still protecting them from accidentally hitting them.
This is actually a drawer handle, although you'd think it was a switch guard. Its available on Amazon, and is called a Sugatsune SWF 690 Stainless Steel Wire Pull Handle. Its made of brushed stainless. Cost is $12.89. It comes in several different lengths. The 2 provided screws worked. One happened to be the correct length as is and the other one had to be shortened a bit as the thickness of the fiberglass in the dash varied. What's funny to me is that after looking and looking and not finding any switch guards that would work, then finding this drawer pull in Amazon, that same week I happened to be in a lighting store that also carries drawer pulls and I saw some that looked just like this.
