Hello everyone I am new to this forum but have been watching it for some time now.I was fortunate enough to pick up an NC895 offshore at the end of the summer last year in Quebec. The boat is now on Georgian Bay in Ontario Canada. It has been a very long winter so the boat is just going in today and I did not get many hours on it as it was the end of the season last year but am hoping to get some good times on it this summer. In some of the posts I was reading that some people were having some water issues I have had that also there was water in the top drawer of the galley kitchen and also on the steps leading into the stateroom.I am hoping to figure this out this year and any advice would be appreciated. My other question is does any body know whether the black plexiglass piece on the ceiling above the windshield is removable.I am hoping to run some wires through there it looks like an acess cover but I am a little nervous about trying to pry it off.Hopefully everybody is enjoying some boating I hope to soon and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Les

Hello Les. Congratulations on your NC 895. I also learned a great deal from this forum. We purchased our boat new in 2017. That was the last year they were made in Poland. We have not had water issues described by others, but based on some of their comments, you should work directly with your dealer to resolve. I too have been curious about the use of the black strip above the windshield. When I was working with my outfitter at the dealer on where to install the VHF radio, I suggested within the black plastic strip above the windshield. The outfitter sure did not want to cut into that black strip as he said it was too hard to work with and very brittle. Based on his comments, it would not be easy to pry this strip off. I ending up with the radio above the captain’s side door. Not sure if he was telling the truth – so I too will be curious what others say. Congratulations again. We have sure enjoyed our boat to date. Dogbreath

We added four small storage draws and doors in front stateroom. Also added additional cabinets on Port side under window. Put pull out draws under sink. Added 7 electrical outlets, horn, drain hole in transom, under swim platform lights, switch for hot water heater. All in all we love the boat. Ours is the 855 so it is layer out a little different. Would love to see picture of the 4 small storage draws and doors in front statement. We have purchased a NC 895 2017 and are outfitting it now. Looking for storage options. We are also installing pull out shelves in the galley area and changing the top of the stove too. Going to leave sink uncovered and just cover the stove (we have 2 burner propane stove). This gives us a counter top with sink next to it. Will have a cutting board cover for the sink.

I was just wondering if anybody here who got their boats from Michigan had the overhead cabinets installed in the forward birth or the selling dealer was able to order and install them. Not to happy with not having them when the boat at the show had them and the literature showed them.

Ramon, Ours was built in Michigan (received a few months ago) and we had the storage cabinets installed by the factory in the forward berth. I think it was about a $600 option but I don’t have the actual pricing handy so that’s just a guess. Definitely worthwhile.

Hey all,
I have a 2019 NC 895. We love the boat, but a couple questions. The 110V outlet does not work. There appears to be only a single 110V outlet that is located immediately port-side when you enter the aft slider...on the aft wall next to the stove/galley area.
I've tested with a multimeter -- nothing doing. My expectation is that it will work under shore power and when the electrical button in the captain chair panel is turned on (the lightning bolt switch). I've checked all over the boat for any kind of GFI trip but I can find nothing.
Any clues on how to diagnose? I've contacted the appropriate people, but it is taking waaaaaaayy too long to get any action, and I'm taking a trip at the end of this week. Really need a 110V socket to charge phone, etc.
Hopeful for any tips here.
One more thing. I have the Yamaha 6YC command link. The depth and speed are no longer working. I had it brought into a service center. He claimed to have fixed it by re-programming it. I asked him how he did that, and he said only certified Yamaha dealers have access to the software. I do software for a living. Very familiar with CAN bus, embedded systems, etc. I'm searching for the software package that can re-calibrate this device or any info that can help me re-program it. Figure I'd post on this forum to see if anyone has any info.
Thanks in advance.
Davis

I have an NC895 owners manual if anyone needs one. It’s identified as 401441 RCD-2 Index B. It came with my boat, hull no 33, which is a 2019 model year. This manual is for an earlier boat but I don’t know how much earlier. Two main areas where it shows outdated info Is for the fuel system and the AC electrical panel. The newer Manual I’ve received is identified 090-3178 RCD-2 Index A. It has updates including the issues I’ve mentioned above. Capt’n Lynn Please I am searching for a manual. Can you post it here? I'm sure many folks would appreciate!

My 2019 895 has an outlet where you describe on the starboard side so I’m assuming that’s the one. Have you checked the 120v panel down in the 2nd berth to be sure the switch is on? On this same panel you should check that you have power into the boat via its voltmeter. And small green light on this panel should be on. You should also have an outlet in the under sink cabinet for a microwave . That is on a seperate circuit. Have you tried it? The switch at the helm with the lightning bolt is for 12v. It may or may njy have anything connected to it depending upon how the factory and your local dealer connected things. Sorry I don’t have any advice on the Yamaha guage. Capt’n Lynn

I had a chance this past Thursday to take a tour of the Factory in Cadillac and see the build process of the 895. It was a great tour and the shop foreman was extremely honest and open. He is happy with their progress in the new model and for those of you looking for the cabinets over the forward berth it looks like those are now being manufactured again. If someone has build number 52, let me know as I have images of the boat during each step of the build almost. Any chance you can share direct contact info with someone at the Cadillac factory? I have a 2019 NC 895. I have the boat on the East side of the state (MI), but often travel through Cadillac. I would love a chance to tour factory or even have a direct point of contact to ask questions about the boat.

Capt’n Lynn Capt'n Lynn -- thanks for the info. Yes, I have checked the panel down in 2nd berth. All switches are on. Didn't realize there was a second 12v outlet for the microwave. What I need is for the 110V outlet to work. As we are in port away from home, we currently have no way to charge anything. Pretty certain we have power into the boat otherwise or batteries would have drained long ago. All 12V electronics working just fine. It's the 110V outlet that is not working. Microwave also working. Did not realize switch at helm was just for 12V. I guess there is no GFI trip anywhere. Will have to start pulling things apart to diagnose.

Davis,
The outlet under the sink/drawer for the microwave if it’s there is 110/120 volt. Hopefully it works. Another option Is to charge your phone via the USB port. It should powered via the AM/FM radio. When the radio is on this port allows you to stream Music and also charges too. Just plug in your phone to it.

Hello all,
Happy almost thanksgiving. We took delivery in Portland two weeks ago of our 895. It's awesome, even in the break in period, the economy cruise at 4k on each side we're getting 22-23 Knots and 1.6 Mpg. Our numbers so far our numbers are lining up with what was reported for performance in Boating Magazine April 2, 2018. I have two questions for the group. First, has anyone crafted a way to keep the bench lockers in the cockpit dry? I love the extra storage, but on the Columbia, I think this will be a mold farm soon. My other challenge is the cover to the galley. We had a dealer installed propane cook top. First off the hinges aren't great. I'm having trouble keeping the forward corner from hitting the counter while closing. The cook top is mounted such that the hinges are largely inaccessible. This also results in a very close proximity between the burners and the lid. They installed some great polished stainless shielding, but it does not come all the way to the bottom of the lid, leaving 2 inches of exposed wood only 3 inches from the flames. This will be even closer once a large pan is on the heat deflecting more flame and heat closer to the exposed wood. Any advice and funny stories greatly appreciated.
Re: bench lockers -- get some rubber corks and fill in the holes. It helps.

Hi Davis,
I have a Jeanneau sailboat, so I don't have direct knowledge of your boat. But ABYC standards require (I think) a main breaker near the power inlet. In my boat, it's in a locker, hidden away near where the shore power cord plugs in. If the battery charger is working, this is probably not the problem, but it's worth checking.

Thanks Don, Will check tomorrow. So far, haven't found any other breakers, but prob need to take yet another look.

There is no such switch near the outlet on the 895 right inside the slider, but perhaps it is buried in where the microwave is. I intend to check it out tomorrow. Thanks for the info!

Yep, no such luck. Here's what the microwave plug looks like. imgur.com/vVsEWmpHere's the main breaker panel. Outlets are on. I tried switching it a couple times, and even unplugging the outlets and re-seating it. No luck. imgur.com/6BnuYjTThe microwave works, by the way.

On the jeanneau 895 manual request... it’s a hard copy. If you didn’t get one with your 895 your dealer should get you one For no charge. Each boat should come with it plus also manuals for all the major components. I actually have 2. One is for my 2019 model and it seems to be fairly accurate. I also have a slightly older pre-2019 manual. That’s available if someone wants it. I can supply manual numbers if thats if any help.
On the cockpit seat locker... in addition to putting a plug in the seat hole I added a 1/8” thick by 1/2” wide neoprene self stick seal around the locker perimeter under the door. It keeps out 95% of the water. . But I do open it to vent it during dry weather.

Just finished our sea trial on a new 2019 895 offshore, got a heck of a deal as 2020’s are coming out momentarily, so we closed on the spot and now . . . I have about a go-jillion questions! If I get annoying tell me, and I’ll probably keep asking them anyway (but at a reduced pace)! We live on the Gulf coast of Florida where “heat” (not cold) is the single biggest barrier to “all-day happy, fun-time boating”. During the sea trial the heat index was 106 and I noticed that even with the generator & AC running, the salon was still quite warm. Our initial contemplated solution is to tint the windows . . . Obviously NOT through the dealer (since Jeanneau tends to invalidate warranties on window that have been tinted, etc . . .). My first 2 questions: 1). Does window tinting help significantly and has anyone tried it? 2). Has anyone explored a small fan option to blow the “super cooled” air from the cabins up into the salon and if so, what are you using and where are you plugging it in? 2a). How does one add a profile picture to their profile in this forum? I’m super excited to be getting this boat (we are just awaiting installation of 2 TV’s, Garmin auto-pilot, Sirus weather, plasdeck, re-upholstery of the salon cushions (we didn’t like grey) and the addition of her name, “Mostly Sober”! Any advice, guidance or opinions are appreciated! PS: We are not “handy” so solutions that require even basic repair/construction/tool skills . . . Are likely to result in us just paying a marina . . . Read more: jeanneau.proboards.com/thread/7050/nc-895?page=3#ixzz5vNktzEzg

I am experiencing the same issue and over the winter i plan two "fixes". i want to install two additional vents in the main cabin that can be open and closed. i will tap into the a/c vent lines that feed the lower cabin and the front cabin. During the day we usually are in the main cabin so losing the a/c in the lower cabin is not an issue at all. in the front cabin, i will be able to turn on when i want.
Its a big a/c unit i just think it more air has to be divertible to the main cabin.

If a fan and tinting don’t work - I will probably have someone rerout some of the lower cabin air as well.
