Please, need advice on how to remove the electrical panel board of the SF/SO 37 (2000). Not the switches black panel itself, this can be loose easily by 6 little screws, but the wood board panel where the black one is screwed. Thanks.

Why would you want to remove it?

Why would you want to remove it? There are all kinds of reasons. For example, installing another device like a battery monitor.

Why would you want to remove it? Many reasons, but in my particular case to have access to obsolete equipment installed by the previous owner. One may want also to replace the wood board itself when is full of holes from removed old equipment that do not fit new one's shape...
Anyone to help, please?

Hi there
on my 43, there are screws on the front of one of the panels, once you remove that one, then you get access to the hidden screws for the other boards
maybe it would be easier if you post a photo
cheers

I had that same issue with to many holes. I solved this by adding a 5 mm thick teakwood board over the whole area. Then you can drill new holes for your equipment. And if you later wish to rearrange, simply remove the 5mm board and start all over again.

Panoramix, that's a clever solution for the old holes issue.
I still would prefer to have access to the connections by removing the wood board, like at all the other boats that I know, rather than removing the switch panel. The instruments panel just at the right can be easily removed by two screws, I can not understand the reason of the mysterious removing method of the central board.

If you are going to cover the whole area, you can make a second big hole next to the switching board in the existing material.

I too need to add a few more electrical items (bilge alarm, USB power, digital volt/amp meter, blackwater sensor meter). I opened the black panel and looked inside but did not see a positive or negative bus. Any ideas on how to better open the space behind the panel or on how to access the positive and negative buses?

No, I did not find a solution. There are screws at the top of the panel, but the space is so tiny that no tool fits, and I finished by rounding the head of the screws...
Saludos. Kelowa

I had the same problem when I replaced my Nav station a few years ago. It seems the panel is secured with screws from behind the panel. You can access them by removing the small portion to the right (usually where the radio is installed) but it's a challenge to say the least. I ended up using a sawzall and replacing the panel since the original dealer hacked up the nav panel pretty well.
