I assume that the 469/479s all had the same installation. If not, I’ll post this on a different section. The fuel filter/water separator on these boats is really in a bad spot. If they are all the same? Mine is in a narrow area between the fuel tank and the water heater with wrench access blocked by vent hoses and fuel lines. Always seems to be a pain to change the element. I am thinking of relocating it somewhere more accessible. Have any of you done this? Paul

In my 2019 479 the fuel oil separator is located just inside the engine compartment on the STDB side under the companionway ladder. Very easy to access. Perhaps Jeanneau actually changed something foe the better as the line matured.

Thanks. Is it the Yanmar filter separator or a Racor? And, is your fuel tank on the Stb side? My tank is on port side and the filter is close to the tank. But I really do think the engine compartment is a lot easier to access. I’m wondering if Jeanneau went to a different unit when they moved the location.

Moonshadow, the unit is the Yanmar fuel/water separator and my fuel tank is still on the port side. They ran the fuel lines around the engine and up to the forward edge of the STBD side of the compartment, just behind the ladder. My sense is that this is an easy location for access. The electric winch solenoids are on the PT side of the enclosure so there is not a place for it there. Hope this helps. I can send you pics of where they ran the fuel lines if that would be a help.

I have the same issue...the Yanmar primary fuel/water separator/filter is in a terrible spot. I'm going to get a Racor 500 and install it in the engine bay STRB side... can't use the PORT side (I have the raw water filter on that side)...
I'll send pics when done...

I know this does not apply to the 469, but the SO42ds fuel filer is under the aft cabin bed...talk about the inconvenience. I removed it several years ago and installed a dual Racor system on the engine bulkhead. Easy to monitor and easy to change filters. There wasn't a fuel shutoff valve either & I added one.

If it helps anyone with the original installation I discovered “thin wrenches” that can be used to hold the bolts so you can remove the nuts and lift the assembly to change filter.
