While digging into a different project today, I noticed there is a gray factory installed water line going forward in a bundle of wires, but for the life of me can’t figure what it would be for except a fresh water wash down for the anchor, which I don’t have…
Any thoughts?

I am betting that’s what it is; when I poster the question I wasn’t aware we had a 3rd tank under the v berth because the manifold was improperly marked and the fill was covered by our dingy…

Yes, the grey line is the supply line from the fwd tank. The fill pipe comes down from the fitting up on deck.
You should have a manifold behind the chart table down low that has three valves for the three tanks. Best to use only one tank at a time, and monitor how much water has been used with the counter, if the battery in your counter still works. If not, you might want to investigage the project of replacing the battery.

Hello RXC,
Where is the battery for the monitor? We bought a 2004 43DS and that little meter has never worked.

The battery is inside the meter. It is soldered in place, and is unusual and expensive. Someone else has replaced it with 2 AA cells mounted externally, with wires into the meter. I bought a new meter from the factory in Germany(?) which had a new battery in it. The batteries are not expected to be replaced.

A few years ago I bought a replacement meter and just realised I have still to fit it!

Hello rxc & alenka, thank you for getting back to me about water meter. I'll most likely have more questions for going forward. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family
