Hi I recently became the proud owner of a Jeanneau 40 Deck Saloon. Shortly after purchasing I discovered the pressure relief valve on the hot water system was leaking. The water pump kept running as the water flowed down to the bilge pump and out. The valve is a Honeywell TP152-1/2 1/2" 2.5 Bar 90 Deg c Pressure & Temperature Relief Valve. I'm in Newcastle, Australia and having some trouble locating a replacement. Does anyone have any suggestions for where I could try to find a replacement valve or a substitute that would do the job. Thanks for any help offered.

You should be able to find a suitable replacement at any plumbing supplier or perhaps even a home improvement retailer. You know the size, the pressure rating and the temperature rating, which should be all you need. Even temp and pressure ratings close to that will be fine.

Thanks for your response Zaphod. I have tried a variety of plumbing suppliers with no luck at all. I now understand that the part is no longer made by Honeywell and I'm looking for other options. I can't run the engine as the heat exchanger heats the water (as well as the 240). Starting to think I'll have to replace the whole system if I can't find this part.

Is the part just not sold in Australia or is the part discontinued? If the former let me know the part number and I can do a goggle search in the UK. Google often does not show results from out of your area despite asking in the search.

What brand water heater is it? I assume you have already tried them?

Ive just tried to find a replacement for mine here is Santa Carles in Spain and as a stop gap until mine is delivered i took the PRV apart and de scaled it with a solution of phospheric acid and re assembled it with a smear of silicone grease across the rubber seal and it seems to be holding up well at present.
This is what i have ordered from the UK to keep as a spare

Hi James, What was the outcome of your situation? I have a SO 35 in Sydney and am facing the same. The PRV offered by an English company is 3 bar and made for newer water tanks (I think the one in my boat is nearly 20yo!). It would be nice to hear from you, thank you;
