Over the course of the 14/15 years i have been underway, i have sailed to way over 50 different countries. And in more than a few i have put on my snorkeling stuff and looked around a bit but that was about it. Currently i am in Grenada - I would say stuck but if this is stuck i love being stuck -- and with a bit of time (way to much) on my hands i took up diving. It is not that difficult. I was surprised. And don't think age has anything to do with it. I am older than most of you.
What is down there is simply amazing. I wish i had done this before i set out. I can not begin to imagine diving in Greece or Turkey or Italy or Israel. What in the world did i miss?
Something to think about because what in under there is just as wonderful at what is above and sometimes much more vibrant.

Chuck
I love getting below the surface too. In the Med the water is both warm and clear. I use a hooker system for keeping the marine growth off the hull, but also gradually becoming better with a snorkel. Really recommend a PADI course.

I've got 2 tanks and a Bauer compressor aboard and go diving (in the Caribbean) at every opportunity. I didn't take up scuba until several years ago and regret having not started sooner.
