We had the same issue on our Jeanneau as on our Beneteau.
The tack of the jib was shackled to the base of the furler.
We raised the sail about 4 inches and connected with a small line. Furls better. Sail shape is better (not interfering with the front rail). Easier to see under the sail.
Any issues with doing this?

As long as the head swivel is not topping out at the top that shouldn't be a problem.

The gap created between the tack of the sail and the shackle will add horizontal load to the sail at the point on the luff where it enters the foil. This can be overcome by adding a soft shackle attached to the tack and circling the furler, thereby holding the luff in line with the foil - firm but not tight, as the foil needs to rotate freely within the soft shackle. We have had no problems with this setup.
