Team,
I know there are several hardened PNW cruisers on here. So, I'd love to hear recommendations for a long August trip this summer. We've been to Victoria (not likely this year), Roche harbor, and a few other San Juan destinations and we're looking to expand our sound cruising experience. We're considering Lopez island and a few other spots. We just picked up an inflatable 8.5' Achilles so we're more open to nights on the hook or even our first ever mooring ball. Anyway, love to hear any recommendations from Olympia to Blaine.
Thanks, West

Volumes have been written on this topic... as just about around every bend there is a place to explore and spend a night on an anchor. Suggest getting a copy of the Waggoner Cruising Guide, and while you're there (online or in their store in Anacortes) get a copy of the Ports and Passes Current Atlas and PNW Tide and Current Guide. Just about all the guide books they offer are great. I also like the Salish Sea Pilot (check it out online). Also, join the Facebook group 'Sailing Puget Sound and San Juan Islands'. And while you are in the San Juan Islands, don't miss Stuart Island, Sucia Island, and Cypress Island... bring your fishing gear and crab pot!
Enjoy!

thank you, we're done 3 week long trips up there, 2 on our own boat and one charter. We crabbed for the first time last year, but our ships compliment of fishing gear is nonexistent. We need to figure that out for this trip.
