The deck light on my 40.3 has broken off and the wires have fallen inside the mast. I dropped a line down through the hole in the mast and caught it at the foot. Unfortunately the 4 wires at the foot are still all tight and won’t budge. I expected the broken wire to be loose and pull out easily. Any tips ?

Hi
The wiring in our SO 40 mast is installed in conduits fixed front and rear inside the mast. I expect the wiring from your light has fallen down the mast but not down the conduit. i.e. the cable is still in the conduit. When you pull the cable from the bottom of the mast you are trying to pull the cable around a 360 degree angle. it would be a better idea to try and fish the wire out at the hole where the light is if possible. The conduit will start just below the light position and I would expect the cable to be hanging outside of the conduit.

Hi Martin, Thanks for the info. I will try fishing the wires out this weekend.
