I'm no anchor expert, but I just installed an Original Rocna 10 (22 lbs). It fit the roller assembly fine. I haven't used it yet, but it looks like it will be OK.

hello, did anybody change their bow anchor, or know what options there are for the NC895, without changing the bow roller? thanks Hello ea All scoop and plow anchor type such as Rocna, Delta, Claw... above 18lbs should work well depending of the nature of the sea bed. The only one I am questioning somewhat is the Danforth type due to the length of the palms versus the shank. If you know someone that has one you can ask to borrow for a fit out. Good luck

We're looking hard at Ultra anchor. I've spoke to reps at several boat shows and they believe their anchor will fit to factory roller, but they are in sales. All indications are these anchors are great, but they only have a SS option which means the price is great, not as in good, but rather large.
Good Luck

Yeah looks great sitting unused in a high end marina...that's why it's further down on our boat purchase list behind dinghy and electric outboard.

Trying to find a way to carry the dinghy(without the electric motor), without inflating/deflating it every time.

This may help. The factory installed anchor in 795 is 12 kg. with a moveable arm. Some friends who complained about the anchor not holding well enough in strong wheather chose to weld the moving arm from its base to the Wings. This creates a fixed angle about 30 degrees. They say they are happy with the performance now. This seems an economic solution and I am going to try. But dont forget to put a swivel after the chain if you dont have one.

Welded original anchor 12 kg. 795. It positions itself perfectly to its place. References are satisfactory, but I have not tried myself at sea.

I did not. I am going to use the current OEM anchor as a stern anchor after I find a suitable bow anchor.

I was wondering why the shank was sticking up in your picture. I thought it would lay flat as the flukes move. What needed welding? And more importantly what anchor are you planning as primary?

Have not decided yet since I am not sure how they would fit. Hence my original post asking if anybody had any experience with a different anchor.

So, we were in Poulsbo in August and there's a great used gear store just across from the city marina. They had the Ultra marine anchor we'd been thinking about for about half price. It fit the bow roller fine in is their 12 Kg anchor which should be sufficient for the 895. Of note, the stock anchor from Jeanneau is 14 kg. It worked fine for us, but we never really had it in any hard conditions, besides, our rode is only 20 ft of chain and 80' of line. I think adding 30' of chain would be the best way to add performance to the ground tackle, but the Ultra anchor held great overnight in Gig harbor and while fishing the sound.

I have changed the factory anchor by a Rocna Vulcan 9kg. It doesn' t fit perfect in the bow roller but the perfomance of this anchor it's much better than the original one. Thank you

I have not had any problem with the original anchor but my factory supplied rode was 5/8 inch and only 80 ft long. Changed to 9/16 3 strand and 150 ft. Feel much more secure. When taking off the old rode I noted the rope to chain splice only had 3 tucks and one was coming loose. My new one has 5 tucks. Lots of good videos on You Tube about how to do the splice.

Do you think the Rocna 10 will be sufficient? Have just tried one on ours on the hardstand, fits perfectly without any adjustments, just thinking the 15 may hold better. Unsure of fully laden weight at this stage but the 10 is recommended for under 5000kg?

I changed the delta 10 kg for Rocna Vulcan 12 kg. I think Vulcan 12 kg fits better than Vulcan 9 kg.
