Our 2019 NC37 has Volvo Penta D4-270 engines. I see every other NC37 in reviews from NZ, UK and in ads in USA and Canada that state D4-260. Saw an advert for 2020 NC37 for sale in Utah with D4-260s. Does anyone have D4-270?
Also, our props are stainless, so many photos I have seen show NC37 with brass props.

Hi Brass= no, it is Nibral ( Nickel, Bronze Aluminium) props set, exclusive to the DPH stern drive use for hi torque diesel engines like D4 and D6. Standard SS DPS-A or B prop are not for DPH. If you have SS prop set on D4, it is special so as the 270, Volvo had in the Gen4, a gaz 5.7l of 270HP with DPS and SS prop set.

Sorry, it is the D4-270DPI, DPI seams to be a new stern drive with silver color props, could be probably SS. It is what I do not like from Volvo from the last 5 or 6 years, they upgrade by changing the model to often, it started with gaz engine from Gen3 to Gen4 to Gen 5, DPS-A to DPS-B, now with DPI. You buy a new boat and few years after it is already obsolete

I checked the Volvo Penta website and 270DPI is the latest version, DPI is up to 440 diesel HP with 4/3 SS prop, it is an improved over 400HP DPH. But now they offer D4 230HP DPI.....vs D3 230HP DPS...a no contest win by the new comer, probably more expensive, but not important in the overall boat's price. For those who are planning to buy a new diesel boat powered by D3 or DPH gear, go see the VP website and check with your dealer about futur availability, a lot of money can be lost by buying obsolete parts.
