I have down loaded the installation instruction manual and in principle it seems quite simple, a Yanmar command link cable E70242 (which I need to source) is plugged into the engine management system and the other end into the Raymarine ECI-100, the other connection takes a Raymarine sea talk spur cable supplied in the box. This I assume is connected to an unused plug on a SeaTalk 5 way block or via a T section connected to an existing plug. After that I am ready to go with an engine management display on my Axiom Pro display.
Is it really that simple?
Which of the many sockets connected to my engine is the correct one, and on which side of the engine is it?
Where do I connect up to the Seatalk system on the 51, is the supplied cable long enough?
Will I need to purchase other SeaTalk connectors to make the connection?
If any Yacht 51 owners have this interface, I would very much appreciate some answers and possibly photos of the location and connections. Thank you.

I got it installed on our 51 but we had dealer do it. Works good. You really shouldn’t post technical questions here, there are not many people who could help with complicated issues. Go to Facebook Sailing group or Facebook Jeanneau owners group, you will have much better luck getting your questions answered there.

Sorry ania, but I am surprised by your response, "I shouldn't post technical questions here"? I thought this was a Jeanneau Owners forum and this section is called "Equipment and Commissioning" and where one could exchange technical problems? I believe my question wasn't even very technical, just some indication, hopefully accompanied with photos showing where the nearest point was to plug into the Seatalk circuit. I'm not on facebook, but can only hope some other Jeanneau 51 owner who frequents this Jeanneau owners forum dedicated to the exchange of Jeanneau owners problems and solutions might be able to help.

Yes, it is a technical forum, but was your question answered? On Facebook groups you will get 50 answers in 20 min after you ask the question. Your ECI-100 harness is installed on thousands different boats, so chances of getting faster, proper response is much greater on Facebook. Just trying to help.

A few photos showing the location of the installation would have been more helpful.

If anyone out there is interested, I have discovered that the Raymarine ECI-100 interface requires two external cables to complete the installation to a 4JH4 110hp Diesel engine.
There is a cable that connects from the engine to the engine control panel by the helm, this cable is unplugged from the engine and replaced by a T cable that is then plugged back into the original control panel lead creating a spur, the extra connection created by the T cable is connected to a second cable with an adaptor on one end that is plugged into the ECI-100 interface unit. The other connection on the ECI-100 comes in the box and is a SeaTalk cable that plugs into a free SeaTalk backbone 5 way connector on the boats own system.
These cables can easily be sourced from a Yanmar dealer, and together cost about £350 in the U.K. that only leaves me to find the nearest 5 way backbone connecter with a vacant plug near enough to not have to spend more on SeaTalk extension cables and T connectors.
So basically this is not rocket science and this system is truly plug and play. I hope this is helpful to anyone with a compatible Yanmar engine who is interested in purchasing the Raymarine ECI-100.

Just using this thread to avoid duplicate... Here is the way to proceed for an SO 440 With the great help of JY51 : I found the specification for ECI 100 on a 4JH57 Yanmar engine. Then Purchase 5meters of NMEA cable ( White and Black) as the one provides by Raymarine is really too short. I have spend 10 min to unplugg the harness, 20 min to find the right place and way to pass the cable. Near the battery on the starboard side. 5 mins to configure the Raymarine Axiom pro. The other side of the cable is connected to the Raymarine bus in the engine room This was pretty straight forward. I have all the data now ( engine rpm, fuel rate, load, oil temp...)

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, thank you Fabrice-Erta for a very clean explanation. All I need to do now is learn how to up load pictures!

Hi Andreshs1
Not sure to really understand the question. I have the L/H consumption, not the L/Nm but when you know your speed it should be easy to calculate. I also have the remaining fuel quantity. I just need to set Tank full after a stop a the station .

Hi Fabrice
OK, thanks
Yes, I also have a rough understanding of the motoring range I have based on the remaining fuel in the tank vs the RPM I was just curious to know if there was other approach to it, something more digital
Cheers
