Hi all I have a Jeanneau Prestige 32 and would like to ensure the bilge sensors and pumps are working. The bilge sensors are electronic scheiber non float devices. This one www.lecargo.co/plaisance/energie-a-bord/batteries-et-accessoires/commande-automatique-pompe-de-cale-381351600-2The forward pump is auto and manual, but the manual does not work. The aft which is not easily accessible is auto only. Question, how can i simulate water in the bilge to test the sensors? Can I use a wet sponge across the terminals? Can I just use a screwdriver? I don't want to pump the bilges full of water as I believe the water should be on the outside of a boat Cheers Richard

Hi-the sensor has 2 stainless steel "buttons" on its face-if you place you fingers on both and hold for a few seconds, it should activate the pump. If it doesn't, the sensor may have failed. Mine failed and I replaced it with a standard sensor from Whale and it now works fine. No need to fill your bilges!!
Good luck
