Hi I have a 2006 SunFast 32i. Over the weekend the 3/4" MS58 ball valve on the engine raw water intake thru hull failed. The 3/4" replacement part I got just didn't fit. Plenty of info on the forums about how these particular ball valves failed, but I can't find info on what size to get or if the thru hull is British Pipe Standard or NPS. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the little wooden plug in the thru hull looks pretty precarious! Thanks Jesse

If you are in Europe I’m pretty sure it’s standard BSP 3/4”.

In theory ... the wooden plug will swell, and be quite a tight fit. I would consider popping to a plumbers and getting a female 3/4 cap to fit whilst you go about finding a new valve, you could saw off the plug and screw the cap over it with a little ptfe tape, and pop a big screw into the sawn off bung for plug removal.
Lifespan of valves is often over rated, guess you might be looking at all the below water line valves quite soon! amazing how fast the water comes in isn't it.
I replaced all ours last year with dzr, not lovely bronze, or the new composite valves, along with new thru hulls, and will be doing it again in 4 years time, ....... well at least the valves.

On my 2004 SO32 I replaced the throughhulls and seacocks by Groco bronze versions, because I found dezinc effect on both the trhoughulls and seacocks.
I also considered dzr, but I couldn't find all necessary fittins in the right size, Groco couls deliver them all.

Thank you, so32foot! Do you happen to remember what size you used? I could not get the standard groco 3/4" inch NSP size to fit so I will now try ordering the British Standard Pipe Parallel version: www.groco.net/ibv-750-bsppPlease let me know if you recall which size you purchased. Jesse

I ordered through the German agent:
2 pcs IBV-750 Euro 28,20 net. / EA 1 pc IBV-1500 Euro 97,30 net. 1 pc PTHD 1500 Euro 11,80 net. 1 pc PTHC-750 Euro 10,20 net. 1 pc PTH-750 Euro 6,40 net. 1 pc TH-750-W Euro 16,30 net. 1 pc TH-1500-W Euro 59,80 net. 1 pc STH 750-W Euro 31,80 net.
Included are the fittings to connect hoses as well, but you will find the seacocks and throughhulls. please note that I replaced the troughhulls and by doing so I could adjust the thread between the seacock and throughhull. It's for sure different thread than the original Jeanneau. But I'm in the Netherlands, so Jeanneau uses here European standards for fitting work.

Once you've overcome your immediate issue, and screwing a blanking cap over it with sealant sounds like a safer alternative to leaving it with just the wooden bung in, you may think about replacing the others as a preventative measure to give peace of mind
I didn't have any snap off on my SO32.2 but I was concerned about them having read posts and articles about them snapping off so I took the boat out over winter/spring and removed all the through hulls and seacocks and replaced them with new TruDesign black nylon composite ones. They are virtually indestructable and I don't think they'll ever need replacing plus they're completely maintenance free.
I'm just replacing some plumbing pipes and turned the handle on one that hasn't been touched for over a year and it moved very smoothly open and shut with only one finger effort!
I have lots of photos and tips if you are thinking of doing it and I made my own backplates out of fibreglass to ensure they were screwing down on a flat not curved surface. Has worked really well and given me total confidence in my seacocks.
Hope you get your leak fixed without too much stress.
Gary
