There is a Norwegian guy who makes beautiful footages of is sailing trips with his Contessa 35. For instance in wintertime on the North Sea with a storm force 10. If he has balls of steel or is a bit crazy is for your own judgment. This episode is about upgrading his boat but around 1:30 there is Footage of the delivery of a 42i around Norway. Also here he encountered 40-50 knots of wind. Nice to see the Jeanneau handles quite well. Only the furler genua is not strong enough. That is why we have on our 39i a removable inner forestay where I can set a strong working jib or even a small storm jib. Even better of course to check the weather forecast better whilst underway to prevent these kind of conditions....

Element,
Thanks; I really enjoyed that video. Those conditions were a bit heavy.

I was surprised to see how well the autopilot handled those conditions! We are still getting used to having autopilot, and I don't quite trust it yet!

Got a 39i as well, std version.

On this stay I can fly a flat an strong heavy weather working jib of 15 m2 and a stormjib of 7 m2 which I hope that I will never need to use it
