Hoping to read from you soon about your list, I will take delivery of a 2021_895 sport_twin 250 Verado in few months. Engine? Where do you run the boat? Do you have some test numbers?

Thanks to all involved in this thread, it was good reading. We have been driving our 895 Sport/Marlin for a couple of months now and unfortunately I have to admit that it has been more pain than joy for us. The name of our boat, Joy2me couldn´t be more wrong. We have done almost 1000 nautical miles in all kind of conditions so I think I have some kind of a "picture" about the boat. Many things are positive so don´t take me wrong, I am not a picky guy who cries about everything but when You see my list of troubles I guess some of You will admit that sofar I haven´t been the lucky guy. I will put up a new thread soon and hopefully we will have a creative chat that ends up in sunshine for Jeanneau powerboat owners. Greetings from Icebreaker Very interested on this report too. Keep us updated with a detailed post.... my 895 sport/marlin so far is meeting the expectations

It's surprising which items will be accepted without a fight and which ones will go unanswered. -Fritz "Gentle pressure, relentlessly applied"

Maybe it is best to stay in this thread even if the rest of the story is not so much about a water gauge. I will try to keep it as short as possible. Because of the Covid 19 we could not receive our boat as normal. The area where our dealer had their headquarter was partly in lock down and we could not meet and have a proper hand over so we decided to transport our boat by truck to our place which still was free from restrictions. When the boat arrived some rubberpart was missing from one of the engines exhaust outlet and I was told not to run the engine before the part was reinstalled. The part needed to be ordered from the other side of Europe and I got the feeling that I was the one to be kept responsible for it missing. During the time waiting for that part I started to install all the Raymarine electronics that had been bought from the local Raymarine dealer who also provided exact scheme how everything should be connected. The NMEA 2000 system was unknown to me so I kindly asked for proper help as part of the deal. It soon became clear to me that it would be a pain in the a### to get the cables from one end of the boat to another. At the boat factory they really had made some attempt to pre-install a "pipeline" inside the hull where all the cables and wires were supposed to run, BUT they had forgotten to do some proper "woodwork" and the pipeline was chrushed to ZERO space. The installation process became quite painful, I was not so keen on creating a lot of "shortcuts" and drilling and milling a lot of extra holes in the interior. It was a cold april month crawling around in the hull and I was constantly using the webasto heather. During a stressful moment I threw a couple of fenders owerboard because i needed some more space. One of the fenders landed exactly on the heathers exhaust pipe and melted on to it. The heather blew up and could not be repaired so I had to buy a new one. This was of course my own fault and I am not blaiming anyone else for what happened but it was expensive learning. Later than sooner we got the boat on water and went for the first cruise. We filled up all tanks in a hurry and headed out on the sea. Soon I started to smell flowers, alcohol and whatever and felt like sitting in a barrel of tequila. The tank containing fluid for the windshield washers had not been connected at the factory and it all spread out under the floor of the cabin. Well we had 3 days of flower power before the smell came down to acceptable.Because of this we felt like having a shower. Soon we realized that the pump emptying the floor was out of order so instead we got a bath-tube for free. The next day we run into some heavy winds and when using the windshield wipers they both came loose and fell of. Fortunately they stayed onboard and could be fixed later. The second time we needed to fill up gas we realized that the stbd side tank could not be refilled. After a long survey it stood clear that the hoses were not properly installed. Both the fill up hose and the air drainage were too long. They both had a "banana curve " in them, lower than the tank and had created a"fluid lock" that needs to be blown with compressed air. The problem occurs when You go driving with full tanks and gas runs backwards into the hoses. The port side tank is OK for some reason. The same problem is with the fresh water tank, must have been the same rookie installing that one. Well folks, this is about one third of the problems, You probably don´t wan´t to hear more today so I will continue later. I will end up with one positive thing, all the fluids that have been leaking into the boat have stayed there, meaning the hull must be water tight , also everything coming from above has stayed on the outside. more later.....

I think you should post this in a separate, specific thread...not as a complain but some of your findings may be useful to all of us when we take delivery of the boat as a reminder to check everything. I hope you are able to fix everything soon.

I'm guessing the dealer is not close. We've had a great dealer experience over the last two years, and all of our minor tweaks have been addressed satisfactorily.

Hi Guys, A voice from later years-2023 to be precise, I would like to thank the contributors to this post. Thank you guys. For a relatively new 8.95 owner, I greatly appreciate the depth of knowledge reflected in these posts. I have exactly the same issues( no water tank gauge) ,have devoured your views , and hope to emulate you soon. I have a nomination for the “crimes against logic/ good sense”,list of items not included in the original boat, namely , an on/ off switch for the water heater on the 8.95. A “crime” since rectified by Jeanneau, I believe? I still think that it is a great boat , obviously built to a price but the quality does grate sometimes- eg 10,000 hour nav lights with irreplaceable light sources, which fail within three years of virtually nil use. Another candidate for original equipment omissions - a steering indicator for the angle of the engines. Several very tricky moments would have been avoided if I had realised that , contrary to my intention , I had changed the direction of the engines and then attempted to steer by differential thrust on the engines. The marina lock became a very large challenge indeed!

1095:I added a gauge for the 2nd water tank and moved the gauge for the primary tank from the helm to the head. I filled the hole in the helm dash with a clock.
