Hey all,
I wonder if anyone on this forum have replaced the exhaust hose (from the muffler to the thru hull exhaust outlet) on an SO32 previously. Tried poking in the aft cabin today and not sure what panels I have to pull out to get at the hull fitting.
Thanks
Kieran.

I've never replaced that hose.
In my SO32 from 2004 the outlet is on the backside at starboard. I think the only way to get there is to open the lid in the wooden panel just above the dieseltank. If you have long arms you might be able to reach the outlet. Or make the opening bigger by sawing.

I do not have SO 32 but Sun Liberty 34, but still my understanding is that on most boats to replace this hose you need to disassemble half of the boat or at least this was what I had to do to replace mine... it takes serious amount of squishing and pushing and getting yourself in impossible positions positions, puling , hammering, heating with hot air gun, scratching your head and drinking a lot of whisky and cursing - some time days until you get everything done properly

Yes, there is an inspection panel in the stbd locker which you can remove to get access to the void in the transom. I've not tried to change that hose either, but I did need to get access to the steering gear (ours is the twin rudder version with wheel steering) - it's a bit of a contortionists act. You need to empty the locker and get into it, and even then you can only get one arm through the inspection panel opening after which you can't actually see in there.
