Just had following request:
Dear Sir, I am trying to establish a handicap for a Jeanneau Sun 2000. Would you, or anyone in your association, know the answer?
I Barratt
If anyone has ideas?

If one goes to the main page, and looks under the specification page, then handicap, then isaf you get a sec per mile rating of 808, and a TMF of .725. I am assuming one is looking for the european ratings, and NOT the North american ratings with PHRF, as I am not sure there are enought Sun 2000's to rate them. BUT if they were speed wise on par with other trailer sailers, they would be in the 240-280 range.

Hi Malcolm and Marty. I am in the US and own the sole Sun 2000 in the States. I am tricking the boat for racing and fun and will start to race next year. Marty made a good guess. I have corresponded with the Lake Michigan PHRF folks and will apply for an initial rating soon. One of the board members guessed at 261 PHRF based on some rough estimates., although I do not know if that was with a spinny or not. I would love that rating! I'm am thinking I will rate close to the Beneteau First 210 of which there are a few in the USA. I seem to recall seeing the Sun 2000 rated on the RYC web site. There are quite a few racing in the UK and I think the European rating should be accurate. I do not know of a method to convert the UK ratings to PHRF as I think they are based on different criteria / methodology. It's a bummer that many of the races in the USA require a minumum LOA of 25 ft to enter The Sun 2000 has a LOA of 21' 9" and a LWL of 20"4". I have seen a few 25 ft boats with a LWL close to 20".
