The 36i I sail on these days has a couple of factory fitted folding pad eyes along each side. One midships and one up near the winches. They are fitted in spots where jeanneau clearly designed them to go. From the manual they do seem to be there for the spin sheet and guy lines. We are racing today and will use the Assy to the first time (put it up in the marina yesterday) Can we trust that the pad eyes are setup as assumed or should I check the backing plate? I'm inclined to go for it as it's factory and everything indicates that's what they are there for.

Yes, my broker told me that those padeyes, along with the one up on the port side foredeck are part of the spinnaker package. I think you can trust they are properly installed.

Thanks...
Just found out the owner made mistake and had not entered today's race and as the weather is crap, no sailing today.
I will tell him the news. He will probably check the backing plates but I'm happy to believe it's alright.

Look exactly the same as the OEM ones on my 39i, whilst I never race have used these since 2008 for cruising chute and also when I pole out the Genoa running wing and wing and no problems at all and no deck cracks so sure they are well installed
