Ok, I have usually only seen the compass rose for an insignia. BUT< I found/was introduced to this site www.msogphotosite.com/MSOG/pdfpage/mslogo.pdfand it has a logo on page 12 that looks nothing like Ihave seen. Is it an original logo before GB? I would like to copy said logo, but am not getting it to copy to put on here. marty

Hi Marty
Interesting site. The logo they show was used from the early 60's until soemtime in the late 70's I think
I will do a trawl around my files next week, I may have a larger version

That is what I thought, and early insignia. So maybe the one originally used by H Jeanneau, and it appears that Bangor Punta used it too, as it is in the color brochure for my Arcadia. So could it be possible that Group Beneteau made the change to the Compass Rose? Hmmmmmmm...........

While digging around the main site, and the different Brochures, it appears that tween 86 and 87 is the change in insignia's. Along with Beateaux being dropped from the Name too. SWAG'ing here, that GB bought the assets to Jeanneau at about that time?

nope. It wasn't until 1995 that Beneteau took control
Regret I have hunted around my files but can't find a large version of the sail and motorboat logo
very best

Well, a bit of digging again last night, it appears bangor punta went BK in 84 or 85, knew about that anyway, and another company that I can not dig anything up on, which from memory I will probably spell wrong, "Chantilier Industries" took over. So they must be the instigators of the logo change?!?!?! from the sail/motorboat to the compass rose in 87 from what I can see. Then with GB taking the reigns in 95, not sure if any one else was in charge per say tween 87 and 95.
So not to reinvent the wheel per say, does this sound reasonable?

Marty That coincides roughly with the history I had constructed some while ago at: jeanneau-owners.com/history.htmlNote the USA connection through the ill fated Bangor Punta Malcolm

I have to say, bangor punta really screwed some good Boat builders up! Fortunetelly Jeanneau managed to survive! Cal, Ranger, O'Day, were all good basic boats that sold well! Still popular want to have used boats here in US for the most part. O'Days are not as popular, but the Cal and Ranger's still are.
Logo changes from Original by H Jeanneau, probably were initially by BP, then Chantelier, With GB leaving it alone as the compass rose!
I guess that solves that riddle to a degree. AFTER I get a new main with the Compass rose on it, would have been fun if I could have gotten one with the sail and motor boat. I am sure that would have been a good conversation at a local roundezvous or equal!

On each side of the cabin roof are two decals - transfers or stick-on decorative panels with coloured borders and the make and model - Jeanneau Sun Light 30. These have become very faded with the sun over the years. Does anyone supply replacements?

John,
I am not sure where you live, but check with some local print shops if in the US. As some of these places have the ability to make these for you. may not be as cheap as if someone like Jeanneau had them on the shelf at the wherehouse. Online might be another source to look too. I am sure you will have to do some trace on art work to make a pattern for them too.

It is possible that you may still be able to get them, if the factory still have stocks. Contact your nearest Jeanneau dealer, who should be able to order them if they are still available

Malcolm, Thanks for that suggestion, I am in Falmouth, UK and I see you are in Ipswich, UK, so I guess your nearest Jeanneau dealer/factory is the same as mine, where would that be? It would be really great if they have any old stocks. Marty, The old decals are completely faded to grey, I can't even see what colours they should be, though I can get measurements off them. I will try the dealer/factory route first, though your suggestion of creating artwork and having some made up will be the best if they haven't any. Does anyone know what the colours should be? I could post some photos of the faded decals, if I knew how to post photos on here. EDIT OK I see there are instructions at the top of the forum page on posting images into posts, so I will try that later. Thanks for your help. Here are the images (note - these are colour photos!) Tean, the sun dream 28 brochure, IIRC the model the sunlight became after the arcadia. It has the colors or is that colours for you logo. Dark blue and red combo that you would need. Also, you may be able to go to the main Jeanneau website, hit sail boats, the previous models and get an older brochure. www.jeanneau.fr/inventaire/brochure_20080303_157_.pdfI found the link to the main website/brochure for you. Same colors as the sundream, blue lettering, and the compass rose being red. Marty

While I was out at work today, mid day here on the west coast of US, locally for me anyway, a sign shop wold have NO problems scanning that logo from the brochure, and making a vinyl copy that you just stick on. Same as some do with names on boats. I did that, no issues. My sign shop did my boats name in vinyl, including the shadow part all in one, easy to stick on yourself.
Also my Business trucks/trailers etc has vinyl lettering on them with company name. I have a dumptruck with lettering dating to 1993, a little faded, but still doing just fine in a dark royal blue, not quite navy blue.
Anyway, do not think it will be a big deal to get new copies.

Malcolm,
Thank you very much for the suggestion of Westways in Plymouth, no doubt they will be a useful source of other parts too. At the moment I am awaiting Clarke and Carter Interyacht's response (I found them through the Jeanneau Owners website) . They are trying the factory for me. I will give Westways a try too.
Marty,
It was very kind of you to find those links to the brochures for me. I see from the Sun Light 30 brochure that the logos are indeed dark blue text and a red compass rose. Also, there seems to be a light blue triangular background and I think the long lines may be red and dark blue. That has been a great help, thankyou. If the factory have none in stock (pretty unlikely now I should think), I will certainly follow up your suggestions re getting a local sign shop to have a go at them.

Do you have a link or the ebay name of said person? I tried looking for them, to no avail. Not a real ebay look see person, so it may be a European person vs a N American seller or not sure what else to say on this.
