Guys
Just a quick note....I will post pictures and more info when I am back home at the end of the month.
Ramsgate to Brighton 2-3 metre waves a 24 knot wind on the nose. We spent 17 hours doing 118 miles with an average of 6.56 boat speed. A big wave and his BIGGER brother put a foot of water in the cockpit and soaked us both.
The boat took it ALL VERY WELL.
We have no leaks and no damage our faith in this boat is unbelievable.
We are now in Cowes and we will be going to Poole tomorrow.
Happy sailing.
Geoff. ;D ;D

I know just how that feels Geoff! I wonder if we should run a competition to see who has had the roughest crossing this year - or would that be tempting fate too much? We were on our way back from Ramsgate on the 6th July in what peaked at 50knots at one point and was a steady 40-43 knots SW. The wind of course wasn't the problem it was the sea state. With it right behind us we felt just a little vulnerable. Second time this year – we had a very rough time on our way to the RTI race as well. The boat of course handled it – though one does wonder at the time! Thank goodness for the sea sickness tablets!

Thank goodness for the sea sickness tablets! They are not cheap but the "Seasick Watch" www.force4.co.uk/ProductDetails/mcs/productID/1879are amazing, even endorsed recently by Nigel Calder from YM - there are some other makes on the market now that use standard batteries Malcolm

We are now in Cowes and we will be going to Poole tomorrow. Geoff Thanks for the update glad your progress westward was good despite the conditions . The jeanneau weekend was really good, but no breeze to speak of for the "race" on Sunday (think that has been the only weekend day this season when the wind didn't blow I will hopefully post some pictures for the August update. It was great to see so many Jeanneau's on the Orwell, looking forward to the next one already Malcolm
