Has anyone been to South Sardinia yet? Cagliari? Are there particularly recommendable anchorages?

TINA -- first you from Koblenz - my ancestor immigrated from near there a number of years ago. I was there this past Oct to see it. Nice town.
Now for your message. We have sailed and stayed in both Calasetta and Cagliari. In both cases we went into a marina/dockage. In Calasetta to get out of a major blow that hammered the area for a week. In Cagliari we took a slip to check in and it was nice. if you need the name I will do some research and tell you but it was very good. You will not have the check in and out problem we had so things will be different for you.

Thank you very much chuckr. Soon we fly to Cagliari to get a first impression of the harbours. We are looking for a permanent safe berth.
When you see the effects of the storms (Rapallo), the safety of a port gets a whole new significance.
Have a good trip.

For around Italy - the best sailing ground look to be around Porto Venere to be honest - good prices and very sheltered waters in La Specia... Going south marinadarechi.com/?lang=en has some very good prices and safe place - sailing grounds - Capri, Ischia, eventually Aeolian Islands...
