Hi
I am looking for a boat that is suitable to the Swiss lakes and I have come across a lovely Sun Odyssey 24.2 nearby that ticks all the boxes. However I don't know this type and am not really familiar with Jeanneaus.
Does anyone have any experience of this model/range? I have come across a few magazine tests but some real life experience would be great, especially for things to look out for as I am viewing her on Sunday. Also, it is listed as a 2001 boat, which it looks like it could have been, but I have not seen any 24.2 younger than 1999 for sale anywhere in Europe and I can't find her on the Jeanneau web site either. Does anyone know the model history at all? Also, any price indications would be very helpful too. I have had some reports that she is quite "tippy" to sail and someone said she had "horrendous weather helm". Can anyone help me out on that?
Any help is, as usual, more than gratefully received!!
Tom

We were owners of a SO 24.2 built 1997 for two years and really liked it . We have sold because after two years we wanted a bigger boat and bought a SO 32 ( 2003 ) I think our SO 24.2 is still for sale in
Nautisch Kwartier Stavoren Hellingspad 9-13 8715 HT Stavoren Nederland

Two negative points :1 Since it is a rather high boat it is very much influenced by side winds ( drifting ) 2 The plastic seal around the boat is coming loose and gets dirty very easy !
