Hi,
I try to get more info, specialy mounting pictures of the solar panels that you have on MF795. Will mount a panel of 160W, not flex or something. Since I have 2 batt (each 100Ah), one for start, bow and winch, second for accessories. We need more autonomy to use refrigerator, navi, lights, toilet. Now it last less then a day. There is also an open option to get third batt. Does anyone practice the charging with motor on? Maybe I need to change the existing batt charger, which has only 14A of charging capacity, since the motor can give 50+A?
Thanks for any of your solutions.
BR, Primoz

Hi Primoz, did you make any progress on this ? as i have a similar issue. I have 3 batteries, one for the bow thruster, one engine battery and a service one. As we tend to anchor up for for periods of over 24 hours when fishing, our service one has flattened in the past. We are getting a diesel heater installed next week and subsequently asked about an extra battery as it will use power too. He didnt think it was required, im not convinced
Solar panels sound very interesting

Hi,
The project of solar panel is going to start in month or two. Till now I’m not sure if 160w panel would be enought. I will need the 3rd battery for sure, location is a question,... Weight is something what is a major problem. Roof has an archor light, compas for autopilot and whf antena mounted just in the lace where the panel would be nicely mounted. Energy balance is not calculated yet,... Almost every boat in our area has solar panel mounted and most of them only for maintenance the battery and not to have positive balance using the fridge,... Choosing the equipment and mounting locations makes me thinking for last 6 months. Looking other similar boats, but with no satisfaction how to it in mine - yet. Any sugestions, pictures, ... would help. Thank you.
