I would like to fit an EchoTec 500BML to my SO39i 2 cabin. This runs off the engine, generating 76L/HR. Has anyone got any comments about watermakers they have installed?

We have a Spectra Ventura installed on our 43DS, and it works fine. We are currently in the Bahamas, and the water it produces is better than anything we have tasted ashore. Also, I can run it for about 6 hrs every other day, and we have all the water we need.
2 people plus 4 cats, with people taking showers every day, and cats taking baths whenever.
I installed it myself, and do not have the automatic system add-on. Once you get the hang of it, it is easy to operate. Electrical demand is less than the 2 computers, but higher than the fridge, so you need good electrical capacity. We have genset, solar panels and windmill. With the watermaker, we could stay here in Warderick Wells for at least a month without any need to get to a shore facility.
Not cost efficient if you just compare to the price of water (even at $0.50/gal down here), but water is not always easy to find, and the quality is often questionable, so cost-benefit is not an easy case.
