If your boat is in the Med or other hot locality. Think about side/rear curtains that zip onto bimini. They are really good against a low sun. It is also worth thinking about a zip in section between bimini and spray hood. This link, zipped at both ends stops rain/spray coming in through the gap especially in harbour where it gives complete protection against rain (You get a dry walk all the way from cabin to stern. Can you give you more information if you need it. Sunbrella (The best material) our choice of colour captains navy. Tomina

No experience of biminis yet, but we have ordered the OEM NV equipment one in blue for our SO39i Blue may too hot in tropics etc, but it our wetter northern latitudes, probably looks smarter than white (IMHO) The NV unit have been standard fit on Jeanneau for many years and they still produce a standard one for the Sun Shine (details at On 39i the bimini looks well thought out eg it has a zip window so you can see the mainsail leach Malcolm

Hello Tama, We have just recently had a spray dodger and bimini put on a SO36i. Our issues are: 1. Please ensure that the hatches can still open fully when the dodger is installed. Unfortunately ours hits the stainless steel bow and the hatches no longer open fully. Stupid error on the part of the installer and very disappointing . 2. Navy blue is very hot in our climate. It is noticeably hotter than the colour we chose which is an off white colour. It doesn't match the navy boom bag but we had to reduce the heat through the material. 3. Ours has a zip opening window at the front of the dodger which is fantastic for letting a nice breeze come through the cockpit. Kind Regards, Trevor

Hi I am having a full enclosure fitted to my SO36i. It is zipped at the spray hood and will stow away on the frame and then have a valise put on it. I will be able to still wind the winches with the frame up. The back and sides also unzip and gives me the option of a Bimini. I have also gone for the "Jeanneau" blue you might like to look at this site... www.tecsew.com Good luck. Geoff.
