I recently purchased a 2006 Prestige 46 and have a prop vibration that I am working on getting resolved. I have had the engines aligned with the shafts and the shafts are verified to be straight. The next step is to have the props pulled and balanced however the prior owner has indicated that the shafts were balanced less than a year ago. He believes that the cause is cavitation. I'm curious if anyone else has had that issue with this particular boat?
Thank you for your responses in advance. This is my first post.

Hello wendells,
I don't have a 46 but I do have a 36 which also had a vibration problem with one engine.
After alignment and other checks (conducted in the water) it turned out to be a poly bag which was wrapped around a shaft anode. I checked with a cheap waterproof camera fixed with duct tape on to a boat hook.
If the props are original I doubt that cavitation would be the problem as they must have been tested and matched to the hull shape before production, at least I would have thought so.
regards, Napoleon

Posting in hopes that the OP may still be monitoring this thread.
I own a 2007 Jeanneau 46' Fly Bridge - and am experiencing the same behavior - heavy vibration on a boat with recently balanced props, rolled shafts, and aligned engines.
I am at a loss to the cause, and am wondering if there was a design issue with the underwater exhaust, or excess cavitation from a poorly matched propeller...
It's possible the issue could lay elsewhere, but the isolation mounts, and other transmission components have been visually inspected - and look ok.
Just searching for answers..
Any help is greatly appreciated.
