I noticed that the rounded aluminum tube mounted just forward of the steering post (the one that has the throttle lever mounted on it) has developed some cracks. These are right at the point of highest stress when someone heavy holds on when the boat is moving around at sea.
I see that instead of replacing the whole assembly I can attach a mount point from this tube to the pedestal itself and creat a very stable assembly.
I'm not at my boat at present and wanted to ask if anyone could measure the outer diameter of this tube on their boat so that I can go purchase the appropriate hardware?
Thanks!
