Looking at a 2004 SO 37 with a teak deck. Anyone know how Jeanneau layed down their teak decks? Are they mechanically anchored ( screwed down) or are they glued. I understand the deck is a cored deck... Any info would be appreciated. Ken

I would say the answer is both. Currently they use a Sikaflex bonding sealant but the outer-edge near the toerail is screwed as well, that is probably where the balsa core is not present - so likley the same system as a couple of years ago.
I will try to dig out a photo that shows the decks being layed

Malcolm,
A photo whould be appreciated. Interestingly, It looked like there were plugged screw holes running along side the cockpit in the teak decking. I certainly would be reasonable to expect there is no deck coring between the cockpit and the toe rail, as it's only say 6-12" wide at that location. Or are these plugs a sign of a repair?

Ken
I have emailed photos some directly to your email address.
They do the plug the screw holes with teak at the factory , so if consistent on both decks doubt if it shows a repair
Cheers

Malcolm, Great pictures... thanks.... Interestingly, from the pic's it seems they DO screw all the way around the outer edge, including the edge next to the cockpit. Would be interesting to know where the coring begins and ends. Also, I saw no signs of adhesive anywhere in the pictures, either on the edge or the "fill" between, sawdust all over the deck, so they wheren't gluing then (at least I hope not)! Did you tour the factory when purchsing a new Jeanneau? Thanks again Ken
