Hi I have recently taken delivery of a new NC11 - has anyone had any problems with the two burner hob plastic knobs melting or getting very very hot.

I had an Eno two burner hob on my old boat and had no problems at all. I assume you have the same brand or has Jeanneau changed something? The only reason I can see for the knobs getting hot is if you use a very large pan that overlaps the top reflecting heat to the knob area. The big question is - is anything else around the hob getting too hot? You don't want to start a fire. Bye the way I recommend installing a smoke detector especially if you sleep on the boat.

Hi I have recently taken delivery of a new NC11 - has anyone had any problems with the two burner hob plastic knobs melting or getting very very hot. Hi Mike, Your NC11 must be hull nr. 300 or near to it I guess: congratulations! It is a magnificent boat but.....in general there are some small problems to be solved at the start. But your knob problem is normally not one of them. Having close contact with four other NC11 owners I can tell you that none of them reported this problem either. I fully agree with the analysis of Sitara: it is a Eno two flame burner that is used in many boats: (the picture is with elec. ignition, the NC11 version does not have one) and when the pan on the left side is to big the heat will get to close to the knobs. In theory there could be another cause: the gas oven (if you have one). When the gas oven can not lose it’s heat through the ventilation heat could build up under the burner hob. I have never experienced that happening or heard of that from another user. But then: I never block my oven ventilation . Some advise in general: when cooking, open the roof just a little to let hot air and CO2 out and open the door just a little to let some fresh air in. And second: make it a habit of opening the gas valve at the gas cylinder outside and close it there after use there: the risk of gas explosion will be reduced that way. CU Remko
