I have just been working up our Travel Insurance for my wife and I for this season to come. At £128 from Sports Cover Direct for us as a couple and the whole year this is the best I've found. Ian

This Policy will only cover you 15.1 up to the expiry of the period of insurance during which you reach the age of 75, This from the Policy Wording document. 12 more years for me. Ian

But you have to be British or Irish and it is only limited for unmotorised sailing boats? Quote: Sailing (beyond 12 mile limit / coastal waters): Cover is limited to sailing in the North Sea, Irish Sea, English Channel, Bay of Biscay, Straits of Gibraltar or the Mediterranean Sea. All Liability claims are excluded for motorised units. Or am I looking at the wrong insurance Ian??

Also worth speaking to Laura at Topsail on this. They are specialists in yacht travel policies and again will give a real 10% discount on their regular quote if you tell them you are part of the Jeanneau Owners Network. www.topsailinsurance.com/

On y va,
I spoke to Sports Cover Direct. Your right about nationality they only cover UK and Ireland. I don't know your nationality.
As far geographical area I've had a conversation with them and they'll cover us from NW Spain to Gib and onward to Madera. This is going to be added to your Schedule. If we do turn left then the Med is already covered.
You are correct about claims under engine. Their expectation is that any damage caused when under engine, either to our boat or a third party, is covered by the boat inurance. Having just checked the Yachtline Policy Document this is correct.
Thanks for getting me to take a second, more detailed, look at this policy. It nows looks like the right one for my wife and I.

We need a 90 day trip and adding this, the policy goes to well over £400. Ian

I am dutch Ian. You know, the people that found most of this world in sailing boats! Yeah, but that was before the Dutch found the joys of smoking weed
