I have to replace my rudder bearings on a Jeanneau Rush. Has anyone done this before and can give me any tips? What to look for? What to avoid? I'm thinking to fit new Jefa self adjusting bearings but I'm afraid I cannot work from inside since it is simply not possible to crawl through the hull to reach the aft end where the rudder shaft is (I wonder what Jeanneau thought while designing the boat). Advice? Thank you.

I too have to replace my rudder bearings on my Rush 31. How do you get to the rudder tube? What bearings did you finally choose?

Karchas hasn't logged in again since he made that post, 16 years ago...But contacting Jefa would be a good start. There is a French Rush association associationdesrush.jimdofree.com/Might be worth joining Also there are some hints and tips rudder bearing articles, www.jeanneau-owners.com/hintsandtipsindexhull.html#hull Not specifically for the Rush, but Jeanneau often used similar systems, so could be helpful. Do keep the group updated, and please take lots of photos, so a new H&T article can be made. Good luck Malcolm
