Does anyone know where can I order new stickers for exterior cabin walls ( aroung the windows) on the deck fur Sun Legende 1987 ? My old ones are very worn and ripped. The grey colour has completely disappeared.

Jan, my decals are pretty worn out also, but rather than replacing them, I´m having them painted, eventually. I´ll probably take them off when I find the time. It´s a rather time consuming job and you must use 3M adhesive remover but the results are good! I took off the line on the hull (also a decal) and just left it plain white. Good luck!

Ours were crazed and faded too. They are all made from adhesive backed material, even the grey background. I contacted Sea Ventures in the UK who are the Jeanneau Agents in our area and they faxed me a parts diagram and part# list for all the decals, so I guess they are still available from Jeanneau.
However we decided in the end to simply remove ours. I was intending putting on some very fine blue lines (West Marine in the USA sell 5mm wide tape) but once we removed the old stuff decided it looked better anyway with nothing. We removed it with a hot air gun (be very careful, only gentle heat required) and some 'sticky letter remover' solvent from a boat name grapphics company to remove the remaining sticky bits. It took a bit of time with rubbing compound and polish to complete the job and with the sun at the right angle you can still just see close up where the stripes were.

Most of this laser cut vinyl stuff comes off with a hairdryer which can’t do any damage. No need to resort to the dangers of a hot air gun.

I have a friend who's a vinyl grafx guy who just scanned the grafx for my SL, and made a full set for me(Jeanneau @ the cabin, Sun Legende @ the stern, and Jeanneau @ the bow). I haven't installed them but I would send a photo of the decals to anyone interested. Then if anyone is interested, I could put them in touch with my vinyl guy. I have the original brochure, and maintenance sheets from my boat '87 SL(I would copy and share with anyone also interested), I'm not sure where the gray color is, are we talking blur/gray?

Hi Tom, You mention that there you had a stiker done for the bow, I don't have that one on my SL. Oops my wife just walked by and told me it's there. I was thinking about lettering on the transom. Do you have any Jeanneau stuff on your transom? I can see a phantom shadow on my transom.
By the way, we stopped at Willsboro marina a week ago. Went to see your SL. Noticed you had wood version of the engine compartment louvers. Were they easy to do? My wife mentionned them again yesterday, might be something i'd do.

Danny, First off were you in the west side Valcor anchorage (in the rain) last week (19th), we snuck in late sat afternoon. There was a SL there but looked as if it had a lot of company (a few dinks hung off the aft). Anyway I bought the louvers from a Thailand manufacture on line. I needed to rout a rabbit on the edge, and then cut the fiberglass (which the entailed cutting a jig-saw blade but not horrible) to fit. My boat, which I brought up from Virginia last spring had a gray horizontal strip painted on the topsides, you probably saw that (which I hate). So no decals I know of, but I am planning on removing the strip or at least some of it and replacing the decals.
We should try to catch up with one another and compare vessels.

Tom, On the 19th we were in Burlington. Spent the afternoon in the bay watching the air show and then anchored in Shelburne. Was another SL, either "Le Clos St-louis" or "Eaudacieux". Le Clos St-Louis is from Snug Harbor also, and Eaudacieux is from Monty's bay. We should catch up, always fun to see what others have modified on their SL.
