I am looking at buying a new 40.3. I'm told that in September many boats become a 2006 model. Does this apply to Jeanneau or is it when the boat is launched/commissioned that becomes the year of the boat. Also would a boat built after Sept have better model of chart plotter etc than one built about a year ago or is it not a issue.

Boats delivered after 1st September 2005 will be 2006 model year specified boats and will feature "06" in the hull number. However other identifiers in the hull number will specify the actual month and year that the boat is built.
The electronic packs at Jeanneau have been enhanced for 2006 in that you can now have the plotters fitted in the cockpit in lieu of the chart table and can upgrade from the Raymarine C to E Series (which allows repeater screens). The standard plotter offered on the 40.3 is the C80 as per last year.
