Hi, has anyone anyfeed back from sailing the 39i, I have the deep keel, 2 cabin version and have sailed since July, after 3 years in an SO35. I am finding it almost imposable to get a good set with the Genoa! I have Tell tails Top Mid and Bottom, in 3 sets of 3, and No matter where I position the Cars or Halyard tension, I never get them to stream together, or in unison. Also seems to need enorous sheet tension. The pointing is not as High as the 35 as well! any Idea's ?

It is hard to provide meaningfull comment without having a look at the set up - can you attach a photo of your jib trim and your rig set up and it would be easier to make informed comments.
The Quantum SO39i Genoa is a suprisingly nice sail (apart from the leach) so I do not reckon that this is your problem. Your issue is more likely with your rig set up. Are you comforatable that your rig is tuned properly? On my SO39i I have had to shorten the backstay as the factory length was too long which created too much forestay sag and too much rake. I would suggest you have a look at this. My D1s are almost as tight as they can get (bordering on needing shortening) with the D2s hand tight.
Overall with the rig set up, I have found the SO39i is very well balanced (you should be ablt to trim the sails on the breeze in 8-10 knots flat water and leave the helm and it should truck along nicely).

Hi again
I took your advice and cranked on the back stays, D1 now very tight and the the Caps, D2,s just over hand tight .
The difference is really noticeable. conditions were not ideal for real testing, but the difference was seen immediately by the crew. thanks for your help. I will send Pictures of rig

Do you have the polar diagram for the 39i I have one for the 39DS - same hull but less performance rig which suggests much quicker than the 35 The 39i with less windage and more performance rig should be even quicker
