Not much more than a month to scheduled launch, and here's the scene that greeted me yesterday, the Saturday before Easter! Will springtime ever arrive? We received around 8"/20cm of snow on Friday!

Kewl,
How is the skiing their in Chicago this time of year? It was pretty good thursday in the eastern cascade where I was. Last saturday was pretty good too now that I think about it!
Glad I do not live in the midwest! Today was a good day for sailing, about 15-25 knots, 3-5' sears, but alas, I was driving to and from inlaws, along with riding a ferry across puget sound.

Picture gives an entirely new understanding to the term "sugar scoop stern".
Skiing in Chicagoland? Are you kidding? It's a 3 hour drive to all of 450' vertical!
We're done with skiing for this year. Wife Denni blew out her right knee at Alta (Utah) two weeks ago today and is hobbling about on crutches, but the doc thinks she'll be quasi-normal a few weeks after the boat is launched. I'm told that I can't pursue the steep 'n deep until she's mobile again, so that means next season.
We tried your skiing two years ago - got rained on at Whistler for most of a week, thanks to the Pineapple Express weather pattern. Our retired friend in Seattle tells us that you just have to be "local" and go when the WX forecast is favorable for a few days. I know what you'll say - go sailing on the other days!

450' of vertical, I least I only have a 1.25 hr drive to 800' at snoqualmie pass! Or 1.5 hrs to 2000' at Stevens, or 3hrs to close to 3000' at Crystal, or 6 hrs to Whistler! Which I remember skiing at before Blackcomb! Place was WAY smaller and comercial than today. Did spend a week up there twos yrs ago on honeymoon. Cold and clear all week!
You're right, wrong weather to ski, then sail! Wrong weather to sail, then go sking! at least from December to March. Then again, one can golf here year around too.............nice living in a moderate temp area!:B:B:B:B:B:B
