Looking for the height of the boat mast down ready to ship with deep draft. Need to price shipping before making an offer on one!
Thanks,
Len

I've the English and French 43DS manuals on my site and checked both of them for the height dimensions of the hull with no luck. I think you might have to send an e-mail to Jeanneau asking for this information. Do you plan on shipping by truck and keeping the keel attached?

Yes we would ship by truck this time of year if we buy next spring and it's on the west coast we may sail it up. Haven't considered removing the keel. Not sure what the cost would be compared to over height shipping if that is what the 43ds would be. Maybe someone on the forum has shipped one and can pass on the info. If not Jeanneau should be able to supply it.

From the top of my arch to the waterline is 3.05 meters From the waterline to the bottom of the keel is 1.60 meters.
I would estimate that the top of the coachroof is about 2 meters above the waterline.
There is a drawing on p 14-15 of the owners manual that shows the distance from the waterline to the tip of the sheerline in the boat, and it is 1.450m for the deep keep, 1.480m for the shoal draft. Comparing the cabin top distance on the dwg to the keel depth, it looks like the waterline is equidistant between the cabin top and the bottom of the keel in the deep draft boat, so I would call an overall height of 2x 2.0 m =4.0 m (13.2 ft)

Did you ever buy/ship the boat? I'm looking at a similar situation and am wondering how challenging this will be. Any feedback on the experience, how much effort you had to go through to disassemble?

Hello,
Yes we bought Dragonfly but sailed her up from San Diego to Portland. We left the first of April and tied up in Portland 22 days later. We had about 10 weather days stuck in ports mainly in Oregon.

Marine a Service Center in Anacortes. Washington has trucked several DS 43s from Bsltimore, MD to Sesttle, including our boat, Sleifhride, in the fall of 2002. They were all shipped without the keels which were installed as part of the commissioning process. The best person to ask about this woul be Dan Krier who sold us our DS 43 which we still own and love. Dan can be reached by phone at 360 293 8200.

Len, you might contact Shelter Island Shipyard in San Diego. They seem to have numerous Jeanneaus in there being commissioned shipped/received, etc.
They could probably give you a good feel about what is involved. The yard manager's name (I think) is Wayne.
Good luck.
