Hi,
I want to fit a cockpit enclosure/bimine to Rhiannon, a Sun Odessey 36i.
If anyone has done this already I would be grateful for any information relating to:
* The placement of the frames and supports * Attachment to the existing sprayhood * Openings * Storage when not in use
Also if there are any pitfalls I need to avoid.
I would appreciate any information and if possible some photos would be useful.
Thanks in advance Noel

Noel, Attached are the few photos of my 36i's enclosure. I waited 4 years before installing an enclosure and as soon as it was I place I realized I had waited too long. The enclosure is awesome and I highly recommend it. I store the front panels on the dodger flat and the Bimini enclosure rolled up in the port aft storage area. Best of luck. Jon

Hi,
Has anybody got any photos showing how the framework is attached to the deck rather than to the pushpit as in Jon's example?
Thanks Noel

Search for the user Blackcaiman. They used to be very active and posted fantastic and very detailed oriented photos of their commissioning. Their 36i has a deck mounted full enclosure and they have posted photos. The posts are a few years old but have great detail.

Hi All, First of all thank you to everyone to replied to my original post, the information was really useful. My original issue with fitting the enclosure was the positioning of the mounting plates for the frame of the enclosure, the logical place was behind the sheet winches, but this blocked the seat and restricted the movement of the winch handle. I was lucky to crew on an X45c from Scotland last year, this had a demountable cockpit enclosure which provided the solution to my problem. The final solution was to use two base plates on each side of the boat, one for when the enclosure was erected and one for when it was not in use. This is shown in the attached photos. If anyone wants more details don't hesitate to ask. Regards Noel
