Hi - just took the trip up to our Jeanneau SO35 now sitting covered in our boatyards parking lot. It was the first trip up to check on it, probably due to a premonition. We finally got it covered in November - - when it was d**n cold to be outside covering boats!
Any, my electrical conduit-arches and blue-poly tarp were pushed one year too far. Theyv'e protected the boat for 3 years(excluding collapse this year).
I'd like to check into custom(semi?) made wintercovers. Does anyone know of good canvas people that have patterns for the many JSO35's there are out there? (mine is hull 730!)
For someone with a proven pattern this should be easy. On the other hand, I've seen people experience being the 'first' on a pattern and it can be very trying.
Anyone have recommendations on good cover=makers in the North=East US (or East/ Atlantic) with patterns for popular Jeanneau models?

I got a cover for my SO35 from www.thecanvasstore.com in Huntington, NY. If you're located in the eastern U.S., I would give them a call. They had a pattern for my boat, so it didn't require any measuring. I had them add an extra-long tail at the stern to cover the teak step. Their guarantee is unbelievable. If there's any kind of problem, send it back to them to get it fixed, free. They pay the postage in both directions. I've sent mine back two or three times for minor work in the six years I've had it. Don

Hi Renegade,
We we have had good success making the best job we can with poly tarp or cheap unbleached calico, (depending on the application). We make a few adjustments after our initial fit and take it to our sail maker as the pattern to be made up with more suitable material when we have it just right. You could also take it to any local canvas maker who you think you can work with. He can also apply Velcro, proper clips, SS eyelets etc as required. Works well for all sorts of canvas work and gives us good opportunity to insert our ideas.
Your initial poly tarp obviously worked well for three years, about all the material is good for really, so use it as your pattern for one made in canvas with fibreglass battens. Make any adjustments you would like before you take it in to be made up.
