This fellow is cruising down the Intercoastal Waterway, which has numerous 65' bridges to pass under. It is also notoriously shallow. His mast is 80' and draws 7'10". Each water bag weighs 2000#. He keeps the bags filled at all times. As he approaches a bridge, he releases the ballast from the mast and make a turn to start them moving off the beam. He has it calculated that when the bags touch the water, his mast is 60' above the water. He's a Brit! Nice chap as you'd say. i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/bottleinamessage/aratinga.jpgi2.photobucket.com/albums/y2/bottleinamessage/aratinga5.jpg

Seems a perfectly reasonable way to get under a bridge to me.
Geoff.
