I want to install a forestay/babystay with furling jib. Seems the only place to put it is between the anchor locker and the sail locker. Any suggestions or experiences ti help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have been trying to get information to do this on my SO 40 I have a query logged a few weeks ago. I note also that there is an earlier query which like mine has had no replies. From this I can only presume that nobody has tried this yet!! I am waiting for a price from a company in Turkey(where my boat is located) who say they can do it but I would like to see their proposals in more detail!! I think the way forward on a SO40 is to remove the cover under the windlass in the forward cabin and locate a solid crossmember there probably glassed into the hull with some additional stiffening. I don't think there is a problem then with the deck fitting but the head needs to be located pretty close to the forestay otherwise you will end up needing running back stays with all those complcications (which I am trying to avoid)!!!. If you get any more information would love to hear from you Tomina
