I've just bought a Jeanneau Eolia 25 and it seems to have the original mainsail (25 years old: nice!).
I've been out shopping at a number of sailmakers and am about to buy a nice performance cruise laminate sail but my boat came without any logo or sail numbers on the existing sail.
She's not rated for racing but surely she should have some kind of logo or numbers on the sails. Does anyone else with a Jeanneau have this issue or is it normal? What should go on my sails for numbers or logo? (or just a GBR)
Many thanks

Your club, regional association (RYA?) or sail maker should be able to answer your questions. The specs for racing are in the racing rules book, or in the specifications section here: game.finckh.net/reg_gbr/rrs_ap_g.htm

The sailmaker can put a logo on, It will probably be the new version, vs what your boat probably had.
Sail numbers can be two items. usually as noted, you get asigned numbers from the local rating authority. OR< if you do not/or the boat has not raced, and the boat does not have numbers, but you wish to have numbers on the sail, then if you can figure out the hull number with in the style you bought, then you could put that number on the sail, ie if you have hull # 23 of 157, then use 23.
If you are not racing, nor plan to, I would not worry about sail numbers, altho a logo is nice to have!
