My 2008 SO 39i has a label at the foot of the Seldon mast saying that a wire is fitted in the mast for a horn. Can't find anything in the diagrams or behind the electrical panel or end of wire above the foot. I haven't looked yet for junction boxes hidden away in the bilge. Has anyone got any info? Maybe best just to get a loudhailer but an electrical unit with a repeater and switch would be good in fog etc and for fishing dinghies. I have one of those things you blow into to be legal but they are a hassle and deafen you for a few minutes.
Once in a while, quick action on a horn might get fishing dinghies out of the way a bit sooner when entering narrow passages etc. They move erratically or not at all. They wave back at you when you shout for room. Yesterday, I had one of these crazies sit in the middle of the narrow channel to my marina until the very last moment. They have no idea that I can't turn, that I need what little water there is at low tide and that I have no brakes!
