Hi. I am not at my SO35 for some time and need to replace the engine battery. Could someone let me know what the dimensions of the battery are so I can take one with me next time I go out. I'm pretty sure all three batteries are the same size so measuring one of the service batteries would be easier. Thank you. Eddie

My 2004 SO35 came equipped with standard group 24 size batteries. According to a web site I found through a google search of "dimensions group 24 battery", the length, width, and height are 10 1/4", 6 13/16", and 8 7/8" respectively.
The batteries in my boat are mounted in standard battery boxes, and there is a fair amount of extra room, including height, so these measurements aren't critical.

Thanks for that excellent info Don. Sorry I didn't thank you sooner but have been away since I posted (not on the yacht though sadly). My SO35 is a bit earlier than yours but essentially the same except I expect you have the later 3YM30F engine. Would it be possible for you to answer my other query about the toilet waste pipe? Eddie.

Actually, I have a 3GM30F engine, not the 3YM series.
Regarding the toilet waste pipe, I don't think I can answer your question. My boat is on the Great Lakes. Since dumping waste overboard is prohibited, I don't have an overboard pipe or thru-hull.

OK thanks. About the first 10 SO35s sold in the UK had 3GM30F engines including mine. All the rest had the later 3YM30F engines. I keep mine in France on the sea so no problem for the time being with waste. Eventually I'll probably have to have a waste tank which will take up a large amount of my aft locker no doubt! Perhaps someone else will get me the pipe info, meantime, have a good sailing season. Eddie
