2004 54DS with constant water in the bilge.
The best I can tell, it comes down the mast, but there is a mystery. If you picture where the mast step would be, its on the bulkhead at the front of the salon. Just aft of that location is the deep bilge with the pumps. Aft of the deep bilge is a tall structural rib (perpendicular to length of the boat) that extends up to the sole. Behind the rib is another boxed in bilge that has two sets of keel bolts in it. It is higher than the bilge with the pumps, but this is the bilge that always has about a quarter of an inch of water.
When the boat may sit for a few days, the edges around the deep bilge are completely dry, so nothing is draining to it. There are hoses that run through the structural stringers, and the mystery is how the water comes down the mast, passes the bilge pump and collects over the keel bolts.
It's driving me nuts. Any ideas?

After you dried up have someone hose the boat down on the spot where you suspect the leak is located . You and maybe some others can check inside for drips and or a flowing stream of water in de bilge. Shouldn 't be that hard to find something.

When I bought my 40DS there were a couple of bilge water issues. The first was the fresh water tank. SS tank with SS sensors through an ABS type insulator. One of the insulators had cracked and went un-noticed by the PO. Every time the tank was filled, there was a slow drip into the bilge kind of in the same location you describe. Worth checking around your tanks if you haven't yet...

I had a similar problem with my 45 DS and it turned out that I had a leaking water lock muffler, which turned out to be a nightmare to repair. In the end after almost tearing the boat apart I solved the problem. The joint between the muffler and the outflow joint had not been properly sealed on installation at the factory.
Another possibility of another problem that I also had was the air conditioning outflow that got partially blocked, resulting in the condensing pan overflowing and draining into the high part of the bilge and not draining to the bilge pump.

Its a design problem with the 54DS. The only way the area where the keel bolts are can drain back to the deep bilge is when the boat is heeling. I get water down the mast and what happens is it drains under the water pressure pumps on the port side of the deep bilge. It then drains into the keel bolt area. I don't understand why Jeanneau didn't put a drain line forward from this area to the deep bilge. I suspect that the majority of water coming from my mast is condensation. Hope this helps.

I had a bilge water issue in my little 32. What I did was put talcum powder trails across various outflows and possible leakage paths. I found nothing at all and concluded it was due to backflow from the electric bilge pump pipe. I used the manual pump and emptied the sump after it had run up again. It then stayed clear. Another thing to watch is all kinds of overflow or drainage pipes from various appliances. Having emptied my boiler before laying up the boat last autumn, I pulled the pressure relief valve at the top of the boiler and turned the knob to wedge it open. Which I promptly forgot when topping up the tank for the first time. I started the water pressure system when the tank was filling up, and the pump kept going...and going...and going. So I decided something was wrong and I cut the pump and the shore water supply. Looking under the floorboards I found the water had almost reached the floor level, overflowing into neighbouring bilge compartments. I emptied the sump and the other compartments and investigated. The culprit was of course the relief valve, which drains on to the sump...

Ted , when I fiddle around with filling tanks I always make sure the bilgepump is on , you never know .
