Hi - does anyone know where I can get some additional downlighters for my SO40 (2004). I want to take the two from the forward cabin and install them in the saloon so i want if possible to replace like with like.
No manufacturers information on the units to help.
G4 halogen horizontal fitting.
Thanks

Those are pretty standardized units and I got my replacement for a corroded fitting at the local chandlery.
But - why not get LED downlights instead of halogen? The color temperature is warm, they are the same size as halogen but my 20 replacement LED lights on the previous boat used as much power as my single halogen reading light.
Are these ones with a little switch or are they switched remotely?

I have LED lamps in the fittings already. I'm particular in that I'd like to try and match the new ones with what I have. If I find that I can't get the original type I will look for something similar.
Was hoping that someone would have an idea as to where I can source them - they don't have a switch on them.

I wanted to install an extra halogen down lighter in Deep Joy, and in order to ensure that it was the correct part, I ordered from a Jeanneau dealer. The price wasn't that much more than what you would pay for a standard part from the chandlers. I'm afraid that I can't remember the manufacturer details, but I doubt whether you would get the right one much cheaper trying to source direct.

Ther used to be a site jeanneauparts.com where you could get all of these things . Unfortunatly the site is gone , for a long period already. I ordered mine in China where I also bought all of my ledlights to replace the halogen. Use the search function and look for led cabin light or similar , you will find the link of the ebayseller. I wanted to install a few extra downlights in my cabin (above the fridge and so on) , and I took them out of the forward cabin where I installed the Chinese (super cheap) substitutes , they are somewhat different (just a bit) but they are not in the same area so it's impossible to notice the difference.

I think I might have found what I'm looking for. Thanks to all who replied. I have some measurements to take this weekend and will update if these turn out to be the ones.
By the way for all those who have changed from G4 halogen to LED did you install regulated units that are supposed to cope with the voltage fluctuation during charging and use cycles or the unregulated 12v ones?

Robin No , my units are in good shape for several years now.(take the effort of looking it up.) Infact , I just ordered a new batch as spares. Major (financial) advise , skip the expensive led replacements , really go for my suggestion. I'm not affiliated to the company you know. Good luck

New downlighters arrived yesterday morning from Luke Smith at www.everythingboat.co.uk/Cantalupi Mary in stainless steel - using a 10W halogen lamp which I will replace with one of LED lamps. Took me a while but we got there in the end. The newer LED version is about five times the price for some reason but happy with what I've got now and will take time this weekend to install. Again many thanks to all who assisted. Robin
