Looking for some advice for installing underwater LED's on a 54'DS boating on lake Erie in OHIO, USA

I looked at U/W lights, but decided against them. Too expensive of a toy to put another series of holes in the bottom of the boat. If you do add them, they are expensive and should be bronze and LED only. Halogens use up too much power. Try www.oceanledusa.com

Tafika II Thank you. Looks on the 54' DS that lights would be almost at the rudder post to be in the water and wonder how much illumination would be accomplished. Capt. Doug of "Instrumental"

I have really mixed views on those lights - they can look very pretty and do attract fish but, on the other hand, it is light pollution and they are even banned in some places as they wreak havoc with the mating cycles of turtles and perhaps some other fauna under the water.
Nevertheless, I did look into this as well and the newer lights look a lot safer then the older generation, plus the boat no longer needs to be hauled in order to change the lights; but it would need to get out of the water for the installation. The LED lights are power misers, so on your 54DS the power drain would be negligible.
I, too, liked the OCEANLED lights.
