I have a SO35 delivered December 2005 which I'm very pleased with , however a number of cracks have appeared in the deck gel coat on the fore deck. The latest being a 30 inch long crack in the smooth gel coat area at the joining of the deck and coach roof in front of the forward hatch. Have any other SO 35 owners experienced this?

Update December 2007. Whilst being repaired it was noted that a repair had been carried out in the area previously, which must have been at the factory as the boat was delivered new. Heres hoping it does not return.

I also have a 2005 SO35 that has a few cracks in the deck gelcoat. In my case, the cracks are fairly small (1 - 2 inches), some are located near the forward port cleat and others radiate from the port chain plate/deck connection. Our deck is also has some "creaky" spots on the port side that make noise when walked upon. We also have a minor leak on the port side that drips behind the port side cabinetry just aft of the forward bulkhead. My dealer has tried unsuccessfully to fix the leak. I suspect the leak is related to one of the forward stanchion bases.
Another SO35 in my marina doesn't seem to have this particular problem. Instead, that boat developed discoloration of the anchor locker hatches.
I really enjoy the boat although I am disappointed with the quality of the deck construction. I also would be interested in knowing if others have similar problems.

I have had cracks appear in the cover on the the coach roof of my 42ds, also a hole in the deck near the stb aft cleat. I have complained and Jeanneau refuse to do anything. The dealer has had it repaired but I will be selling the boat. The problem with the deck on my boat is because they use an injection process to manufacture it. It may be quicker and cheaper but it is also flawed. I suggest you contact your dealer and make representations. If we all start making a noise maybe they will listen. In my opinion the quality of Jeanneau is going downhill fast!

Richard
We have had some similar issues on our 2006 SO40.3
We suffered small hairline cracks in the smooth gelcoat around the curve where the coachroof joins the forward deck, and a "bubble" type void in the deck just forward of the starboard forward mooring cleat.
A quick email and some photos to the dealer (dealer is in the UK, although "Freya" is in the Med) resulted in a Barcelona company being appointed by Jeanneau to carry out the repairs.
From the time we spotted the problems to the time the work was complete - 12 days!
Please let me know if there is any more I can do to help....my dealer was exemplary in resolving the issues to our satisfaction.
